Abstract: A lockset and a pallet loading bin an associated lock hole. The lockset comprises a lock bar and a handle comprising a connection end. A lock bar is provided with a hook member to interlock with the lock hole and a connection portion. The lock bar is rotatably connected via the connection portion, to a bin body of the pallet loading bin. Rotating the lock bar around the connection portion parallel to an outer surface of the bin body causes the hook member to extend into or retract from the lock hole, thereby interlocking or releasing the lockset. The handle is rotatably connected via the connection end, to a second end of the lock bar opposite to the first end of the lock bar. Rotating the handle around the connection end positions the handle close to or away from the outer surface of the bin body.

  • Patent number: 8641103
Abstract: An aircraft latch utilizes a spindle in combination with an over-center linkage assembly to impart linear motion to a hook member, causing the hook member to either disengage or engage a keeper member on the adjacent structure. The over-center linkage and the spindle are operated by different and independent operations of a handle member. Specifically, the over-center linkage is moved from a stored position, in which the two link members are in end-to-end axial alignment, to a position in which the two link members are no longer in end-to-end axial alignment. This movement is caused by pivoting the handle member from a position in which the longitudinal axis of the handle member is parallel to the axis of the aligned link members, to a second position in which the handle member is pivoted at least ninety degrees. This pivoting motion, which may be accompanied by other actions, such as releasing a trigger, causes the two link members to pivot with respect to each other, or “break”.

  • Patent number: 6070919
Abstract: A panel fastener has a hook and cam assembly with a C-shaped leaf spring mounted in a recess in the camming surface of the cam. The recess is formed with a central barrier with opposed ledges on which the spring is mounted. Rotation of the cam causes the spring to frictionally engage the hook and in so doing become compressed and to flex below the recess edges without crimping.

  • Patent number: 6050616
Abstract: The invention is concerned with case catches (FIG. 4) comprising a claw 40 which can be driven by a crank mechanism through a finger plate 12 so as to retract the claw towards the finger plate and draw two parts of the case together. The mechanism includes an intermediate plate 22 which is journalled for rotation within the thickness of the cover plate 10 and is trapped between the parts which are arranged to turn with the finger plate 12 (14,16,18,20) on one side, and the face plate 24 on the other side. The assembly is held together by the rivets 28, 30 and freedom for rotation is maintained when the riveting step is completed, despite the part 32 being of the same thickness of the part 10 and hence liable to be trapped between the rotating assembly on the one side and the plate 24 on the other side, by the provision of a swaged annular rib 32.

  • Patent number: 5669638
Abstract: The present invention provides a fastener adapted to be secured to a first member for fastening a keeper secured to a second member. The fastener comprises a base member, a sleeve member connected to the base member, and a slide member received within the sleeve member to be extended or withdrawn. The sleeve member is included with an opening into which a cam mechanism is received for rotatable movement. A cam member is also provided extending from the cam mechanism and into a cam opening provided in the slide member. The fastener also includes a turning member which is adapted to rotate the cam mechanism so as to move the cam member within the cam opening in order to extend or withdrawal the slide member. The fastener may also include a biasing member confined within the base member in order to bias the sleeve member relative to the base member as the slide member is fastened with the keeper. In addition, the fastener may be adapted for increasing the amount of extension or withdrawal of the slide member.

  • Patent number: 5561995
Abstract: A door locking mechanism 8 is described having an espagnolette mechanism interconnecting longitudinally movable bolts 12 at the periphery of a door 4. The bolts 12 have individual deadlocking mechanisms that serve to prevent their own movement and via the espagnolette mechanism the movement of all the other parts of the door locking mechanism 8. The bolts 12 are deadlocked by the action of a bush 26 fitted within a slot 24 in the bolts 12 and applying a transverse force thereto. The deadlocking of the bolts 12 serves to compress the door 4 shut.

  • Patent number: 5558386
Abstract: An improved asymmetric wire-hook for a closure one-piece latch wire retainer pivotally mounted to a hinged member wherein the hook is latched upon rotation through an elongated slot of an anchor member. The retainer includes axially aligned wire-lengths terminating in spaced apart opposed bend portions interconnected by the wire-hook. The wire-hook includes one end of a long finger connected to one bend portion and sloped downwardly at a predetermined obtuse-angle relative to one wire length and a short finger connected to the other bend portion and extending downwardly at a right angle relative to the remaining wire length. The long finger lower end terminates in a first acute-angled bend juncture connected to a proximate end of a single lead-in wire segment upwardly sloped at a relatively steep incline while the short finger lower end terminates in a second acute-angle bend juncture connected to a proximate end of a single lead-out wire segment upwardly sloped at a relatively flat incline.
