A latch-guiding lever having a recessed slot extends into a transverse hole in the latch. A plug member under the elastic force of a spring is urged into the recessed slot, thereby preventing any loosening or slipping-off of the latch-guiding lever from the latch. A pull element may be provided to separate the plug member from the latch-guiding lever to thereby enable disassembly of the latch assembly.

    Abstract: A bolt fits slidably within a cylinder and is inserted in a drilled hole through a first slidable member to be interlocked. The bolt, under force of a coil spring within the cylinder, is forced into any of a series of aligned holes in a second member to be interlocked. A striker plate with aligned holes is attached to the second member and receives the end of the bolt as it slides until forced into a hole. A body is attached to the cylinder and the body is secured to the slidable first member to be interlocked. A D-spring on the body engages a D-spring notch on the bolt, locking the bolt in the projected position, thereby interlocking the two members. The body and handle, attached to the bolt, have flat surfaces which when aligned indicate that the D-spring is engaged to the D-spring notch. The handle must be rotated to disengage the D-spring and D-spring notch before the handle and bolt can be retracted.

The cam lock is preferably composed of a resilient, resinous material and has a cantilevered portion which engages a portion of the latch member. A special tool or key of predetermined configuration may be required to rotate the cam member. Among other uses, the latch may be employed in connection with double hung windows which are adapted to be tilted inwardly for cleaning. In such use the windows may be subjected to sliding movement regardless of the latch position, but tilting movement may be accomplished only when the latch assembly is in a locked position.

A latch retaining pin is positioned through the housing and has a shaft part extending within the passageway in the door for receipt on the other side of the door surface of an operating knob or handle secured thereon. Rotation of the operating knob actuates the pin to disengage the latch engagement member and thereby unlatch the door. A lockable abutment member may be positioned upon the door surface or an extension part of the housing to block the path of the latch engagement member when moved toward disengagement position and thereby prevent such disengagement.

    Abstract: A window latch and handle assembly exhibiting an attractive appearance while providing a high degree of strength and small size. The assembly employs a pair of body members which are secured to a door or window frame and a unitary handle and latch. The handle extends from one side of the assembly of the two body parts and the latch from the opposite side thereof. A lock member with an elongated arm surface engages a key slot in the handle and latch. When in one orientation, the locking member allows the handle and latch to move laterally against the resistance of return spring and when turned 90.degree., effectively prevents movement of the handle and latch by direct broad area contact with one of the body parts. When rotated 90.degree., the lock member rests in the key slot allowing limited movement of the handle and latch to release the door or window.

    Abstract: A plastic privacy lock for recreation vehicles and the like includes an outside handle portion for the outside of a door and an inside portion for the inside of a door. The outside portion includes an outside handle having a rotatable outside latch lever to operate a bolt on the inside portion. The bolt and an inside bolt actuator are formed as a single integral molded plastic part positioned within the housing. To move the bolt out of engagement with a strike from the inside, manual operation of the molded plastic bolt against the force of a biasing spring is required. A locking bar or dog having a locked and unlocked detent position is also provided in the housing. The locking bar is accessible from the inside portion of the lock. In locked position, the locking bar holds a bolt shifter connected to the outside latch lever to prevent rotation and operation of the lock.
