Link And Lever Patents (Class 292/26)
  • Patent number: 4643005
Abstract: A multiple-bolt locking mechanism particularly for use with sliding doors having a narrow stile frame movable into closed engagement with a tubular thin walled jamb frame structure and which comprises a vertically spaced upper main locking unit on the door narrow stile frame having a hook-type bolt actuatable by a key mechanism between an unbolted position and a dead-locked bolted position, a lower slave lock unit on the door narrow stile frame having a hook-type bolt, and a upper slave header locking unit, having a longitudinally reciprocable bolt for bolting engagement with door frame header keepers respectively at a door fully closed position and a door partially open position. The hook-type bolts are each movable into hooked bolted relation with a relatively thin wall portion of the jamb wall surrounding a bolt receiving opening therein and which is peripherally reinforced by being sandwiched between an associated inner backup steel plate member and an outer trim steel plate member.

  • Patent number: 4422313
Abstract: An enclosed locking system for transportable commercial containers having swinging or roll-up access doors. A main feature of this locking system is that it renders the locked container virtually tamper-proof. Only the key access hole is externally accessible. This locking system may be added to existing containers or incorporated into new units. The system is fitted into the container horizontal frame member positioned at the lower edge of the access doors. The locking system comprises two main sub-assemblies, a cam lock housing and a removable lock assembly. The cam lock housing is bolted or welded to the container frame member, while the lock assembly is removable after a locking bolt therein is disengaged from a portion of the cam lock housing by key operation. When the lock assembly is so removed, it exposes a cam actuator lever which, when pivoted, disengages at least one cam lock from a cavity in the lower horizontal edge of the access doors, allowing entry.

  • Patent number: 4095829
Abstract: A window lock having a base with a rotatable cam member engageable with a keeper for locking windows, such as a double hung window and a handle member rotatable in generally the same direction as the cam member for moving the cam member between retracted and extended lock positions with motion-transmitting means between the handle member and cam member providing for movement of the handle member through a greater arc of movement than the cam member. Structurally interengaging parts function when the cam member is in extended locked position to prevent any movement of the cam member from the locked position by a force applied thereto other than by rotation of the handle member. The window lock, by means of connecting link means to a second cam member, provides a dual window lock with operation of both cam members from a single handle member.

  • Patent number: 4050272
Abstract: A lock assembly having special utility for locking sliding doors and the like is disclosed. The lock assembly comprises a cylinder lock having a rotor case and a rotatable rotor disposed therein. The rotor has pin members configured such that upon insertion of an associated key into the rotor, the pin members retract and the rotor is rendered selectively rotatable in the rotor case. A movable runner is coupled to the rotor and a hook member is coupled to the runner such that when the runner is moved from the unlocked position to the locked position, the hook moves into a "deadlock" zone. A driver member is also connected to the runner to aid it in moving from its locked position to the unlocked position and vice versa.

  • Patent number: 3958821
Abstract: A door operating assembly for a merchandising machine or the like in which a pivoted handle normally retained in a recessed position on the merchandise machine cabinet door by means of a key operated lock is biased in both directions to a ready position out of the recess at which it is accessible to permit the handle to be moved to a fully open position in the course of which movement it drives a latching member to cause a first cam surface thereon to engage a strike in the cabinet positively to initiate movement of the door toward its open position.

  • Patent number: 3948549
Abstract: A rotatable locking mechanism is provided for releasably securing relatively rotatable members, such as a member which is rotatably positionable with respect to a support member. A releasable ball detent locking assembly is mounted in one of the members for cooperating with selectively disposed indentations in the other member. In one of the embodiments, the detent assembly is mounted within the rotatable member and is provided with a manually actuated release mechanism for selectively positioning such member at one or more predetermined angular relationships with respect to the support member. In the locked condition, the ball detents are caused to protrude from the rotatable member and seat within the indentations formed on the support member. To free the rotatable member, the release mechanism is manually operated to retract the ball detents to a generally recessed or flush relationship with respect to a surrounding wall portion of the rotatable member.
