  • Patent number: 11549281
Abstract: A door plate has a main body with a front side, a rear side, a top side, a bottom side, a first adjacent side, and a second adjacent side. The main body includes a handle aperture and fastener apertures. The handle aperture is configured to receive a door handle of the door. The handle aperture is formed through the main body from the front side to the rear side of the main body. Each of the plurality of fasteners is formed through the main body from the front side to the rear side. The main body has a depth defined by a maximum distance between the front side and the rear side of the main body at the second adjacent side of the main body. The depth of the main body militates against a prying of the door with a crowbar where the main body is installed on the door.

Abstract: A latch (10) including a casing (12) adapted to be fixedly mounted in a door, a carriage (20) mounted in the casing (12) and adapted for slidable movement relative to the casing (12) between an actuated position and a return position, a first spring (34) biasing the carriage (20) to the return position and a lock bolt (42) mounted to the carriage (20) and adapted to protrude from the casing (12) when the carriage (20) is in the return position. The latch (10) also includes a master cam (60) and a slave cam (80) each pivotally mounted to the casing (12) such that the master cam (60) directly acts upon the slave cam (80) whereby the pivoting actuation of the master cam (60) drives pivoting actuation of the slave cam (80) which in turn actuates sliding movement of the carriage (20) from the return position to the actuated position. Pivoting actuation of the master cam (60) through at most 35° is sufficient to move the carriage (20) to the actuated position.

Abstract: An electric lock for remote access control to a container wherein a U-shaped latch is mounted on a door in alignment with a slot in a housing mounted in the container. Upon closure, the latch enters the housing to engage a slotted keeper therein and causes rotation of the keeper. Rotation of the keeper causes a release lever to engage a stepped protrusion on the keeper and secures the keeper and latch. Activation of a solenoid or drive motor coupled to the release lever permits withdrawal of the latch from the housing. The axes of rotation of the keeper and release lever are located to greatly reduce the impact of pre-release forces to the door.

Abstract: An adjustable backset deadbolt assembly providing operational and structural improvements. The deadbolt assembly can provide adjustability between a first backset dimension and a second backset dimension for allowing installation in doors conforming to various industry standards. The deadbolt assembly can provide adjustability between backset dimensions by relative rotation between the inner bolt housing and the outer housing. The inner bolt housing may be provided with a depressible snap finger to allow insertion of a protrusion thereon into a slot in the outer housing. In some embodiments, the slot is provided substantially helically through an angle of 360 degrees to provide common orientation of parts in each backset dimension. Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved spindle arrangement for a latch bolt mechanism for a hinged door, and in particular, to a latch bolt mechanism actuated by spring-loaded push-pull spindles. The latch bolt mechanism includes a bolt with an inclined surface, a housing, at least one push-pull spindle with an inclined surface, and a spring mounted on the spindle for biasing the spindle in an extended position. The bolt is slidably mounted within the housing for movement between an extended position (extended outward from the housing) and a retracted position (positioned within the housing). The spindle slidably extends through an opening in the housing and bolt, transversely aligned with respect to the line of travel of the bolt. As the spindle is pushed towards or pulled away from the housing, the inclined surface of the spindle engages the inclined surface of the bolt to actuate movement of the bolt between the extended and retracted positions.
