  • Patent number: 5857720
Abstract: The present invention is related to an opening device for a microwave oven door. A hook is moved up and down to open/close the door. A swing lever moves the hook upwardly when swinging around a swing shaft at a predetermined angle. An elastic piece is protrudingly formed from an inside of the microwave oven to the swing lever for supporting the swing lever through one direction. By this construction, the elastic piece is deformed because the swing lever is swung. This bending restoring force restores the push button and swing lever to their initial positions, when the push button is released. As a result, the push button is restored without special spring part. Therefore, the number of parts is decrease, and the production cost is lowered. Also, the assembling work is improved, since the elastic piece is produced with swing lever integrally.

  • Patent number: 5771723
Abstract: A key cylinder device in which, in a locked state, a lock-releasing mechanism is provided so as not to operate even if a cylinder case swings. When a first lever rotates in a counterclockwise direction with respect to the cylinder case, a shaft provided on a second lever extends from a side surface of the second lever and engages with a third lever to move a rod attached to the third lever in a lock-releasing direction. Further, when the first lever does not move relatively with respect to the cylinder case, even if the cylinder case swings, the shaft does not extend from the side surface of the second lever and does not engage with the third lever. For this reason, there is no possibility that the rod attached to the third lever move in the lock-releasing direction.

  • Patent number: 5671957
Abstract: A child safety latch which cannot be actuated by those having relatively short fingers. A spring-biased lock is slidably moved within the J-shaped tracks of a guard tube. The latch is in an unlocked position when the locking pin rests in the larger side of the J-shaped track. In this position, the spring biases the locking pin against the top of the larger side of the track. Actuation of the latch, i.e. pushing down on the button located on top of the lock, lowers the lock against the spring. The complete lowering of the lock and the full compression of the spring occurs when the locking pin is at the bottom of the J-shaped track. A slight counter-clockwise twist of the finger urges the locking pin into the smaller side of the J-shaped track, where the lock is spring biased against the top of the smaller side.

In a state wherein the pressing of the pressing button is prevented by operating an electromagnetic solenoid under predetermined conditions and thereby engaging a plunger supported by a plunger of the electromagnetic solenoid with the pressing button, the load applied to the pressing button is received by a car body through the stopper plate. In consequence, no load is exerted on the plunger.

  • Patent number: 4883296
Abstract: A vehicle door handle assembly comprises a handle pivotally connected to a base plate. The handle assembly is connected to a door sub-assembly by screws. The handle comprises a button which when depressed enables a restraint to be drawn into an operative position by a screw extending through the shut face of the door. When released, the button is locked in position by the restraint and prevents access to the screw. This screw, when removed permits the handle and plate to be pivoted away from one another to reveal another screw which may then be removed to remove the handle assembly from the door. The handle assembly can therefore be removed from the door from externally of the door but only when the door is open thus facilitating painting and maintenance.

Abstract: A door latch and lock mechanism especially for storm doors and screen doors, having a latch and a lock bolt. The latch can be retracted from the outside by a button which pushes a plunger in a lengthwise direction. When the plunger is rotated in one direction it will lock the latch in the latched position and also extend the locking bolt to its locked position. When the plunger is rotated in the opposite direction, the latch is released and the bolt is retracted. The plunger is rotated in one direction or the other from the outside of the door by a key operated mechanism spaced from the push button and operatively connected to the plunger by connecting links.

  • Patent number: 4842312
Abstract: A door locking knob structure for a vehicle has a push-button provided on the side of a knob main body which faces the inside of the compartment of the vehicle in such a manner that the push-button is movable together with the knob main body. When pressed, the push-button is withdrawn into the knob main body so as to define a finger receiving recess which allows an occupant of the vehicle to apply his finger thereto and raise the knob main body. Accordingly, when the door is in a locked state, the push-button makes the finger receiving recess disappear, and there is no gap between the push-button and the knob main body. Thus, it is possible to prevent any accidental or undesirable unlocking of the door.

  • Patent number: 4685558
Abstract: A compact includes a cover which is hinged to the base by a hinge which includes a helical coil spring which is tensed by closing of the cover for storing energy that forces the cover open when the cover is released for opening. The closure for the compact includes a subassembly of a button, an apertured locking element and a pair of runners which cooperate with stops in the bottom of the base so that as a locking pin in the cover passes through the aperture in the locking element, the subassembly is effectively depressed and the runners are flexed for storing energy in the runners which thereafter restores the subassembly to its undepressed state with the pin locked in the locking element. The subassembly operates similarly to be self-restoring when the button is depressed for unlocking the pin whereby the bias provided by the coil springs the cover open.

  • Patent number: 4669287
Abstract: A lock assembly has a lock barrel which slides in a housing so that a finger at the end of the barrel can release a latch. The lock barrel is prevented from sliding when the barrel is locked, by engagement of the finger with a blocking plate, but the barrel is freed when the key is inserted and turned. The finger is made so that it shortens if excessive axial force is applied while the barrel is locked. This shortening may be effected by including an easily rupturable connection between different sections of the finger. When the finger shortens, the connection ruptures and prevents the finger from getting near the latch to release it. Once the connection has ruptured, further movement of the barrel into the housing will bring the barrel into contact with the outer periphery of the blocking plate which is well supported.
