Bolted Lap Flanges Patents (Class 295/20)
  • Patent number: 6352294
Abstract: A wheel comprises a main body, a tread making a contact with a top face of the rail head of a rail, and a flange. At least at a portion of the wheel tread which is in contact with the rail, there is provided a tread-forming component formed of a ceramic-particle-dispersion reinforced aluminum composite material, which has ceramic particles mixed in an aluminum alloy. The tread-forming component is formed in a ring shape, fitted into a tread-forming component receiving portion and fixed to the main body by a fixing member.

  • Patent number: 4818041
Abstract: An idler wheel assembly for a track-type vehicle has a hub member and a plurality of replaceable wear segments positioned around the circumference of the hub. A plurality of U-shaped grooves in the circumferential surface of the hub receive resilient means. The wear segments also fit within the grooves and hold the resilient means in place. A plurality of clamping members encircle the hub, overlap the wear segments, and clamp the resilient means between the wear segments and the grooves as they are secured to the hub. The wear segments are therefore resiliently isolated from the idler hub. Conventional idler wheels for track-type vehicles have exterior rims which contact the track and guide the track as the vehicle is operated. This contact between the wheel rims an the track produces objectionable noise and vibration. The subject idler wheel assembly generates low levels of noise and vibration by isolating the rims or wear segments from the wheel hub with resilient rings.

  • Patent number: 4463683
Abstract: A motor-driven overhead trolley conveyor is described which comprises a rail having horizontal sections and inclined sections. Rack sections or chain sections are associated to the inclined sections. Each trolley comprises its own drive motor. In the horizontal sections the driving force is transmitted exclusively through a drive roller. In inclined sections the drive is effected by means of a gear meshing with the rack or chain and being driven with the same angular velocity as the drive roller. The drive roller comprises a drive wheel connected with the drive shaft as well as a ring mounted on the periphery of the drive wheel in a slide bearing fashion. By this feature, a cold working of the drive roller surface and the rail surface due to alternate stresses caused by the gear is avoided.

  • Patent number: 4183572
Abstract: The present noise damping apparatus is especially intended for damping the noise caused by wheels running on rails. For this purpose there is provided a noise screen connected to at least one surface of the rail wheel in a force transmitting, yet removable manner. The noise screen comprises vibration damping reed members. This screen prevents noise generated by the wheel proper from radiating outwardly and it also acts as a noise absorber for the impact noise propagating in the wheel and other solid bodies.
