  • Patent number: 11364776
Abstract: A cable drive system having a cable drum housing, a cable drum unit mounted therein for rotation by a drive motor, a first control cable and a second control cable. The first and second control cables are each windably held on the cable drum unit for the purpose of driving the protection device. The first control cable is guided out of a first housing part of the cable drum housing along a first direction, and the second control cable is guided out of a separate, second housing part of the cable drum housing along a second direction. Different mounting positions of the first housing part are provided in which the first housing part is in different rotational positions relative to the second housing part, with the result that the first guidance direction has a different orientation than the second guidance direction in the different mounting positions.

  • Patent number: 5259656
Abstract: A new golf cart enclosure has a top panel (14) with roll cover (5) attachable to a top (13) of a golf cart (4) or other vehicle or structure (32) above an area to be enclosed. Roll-up side panels (1-3 and 37) made of flexible and selectively transparent materials are attachable to the top of the golf cart (4) or structure at a position under the roll cover (5). This allows the roll-up side panels (18) to be rolled up under the roll cover (5) at select sides of the golf cart or structure to protect the transparent panels (1-3 and 37) from sun and other elements. The roll-up side panels in rolled-up condition are then held in a position under the roll cover with straps (20). The roll cover (5) can be positioned on top of the golf cart (4) or structure (32) such that the roll cover (5) has a plurality of edges at a plurality of sides of the golf cart or structure. The roll cover overhangs edges of the golf cart or structure and overlies rolled-up side panels (18) like flexible eaves.

  • Patent number: 5085473
Abstract: An air-actuated curtain device for covering the windshield and windows of a vehicle for the purpose of blocking the rays of the sun. The device activates the spring loaded roll-on curtains through compressed air that is forced through a distensible element that is perpendicularly positioned on the curtain sheets with respect to their respective mandrels. The air compressor is controlled by a timer, or a pressure switch, that permits to operate a sufficient amount of time, or reach a predetermined pressure limit, to fully distend the curtain sheets. Upon release of the pressurized air, the curtain sheets come back to their initialed rolled state. Air pressure release valves are used to manually and automatically release the air in the conduits when it exceeds a given pressure.

  • Patent number: 4669775
Abstract: A roller curtain is provided, generally in kit form for installation at the rear of a truck, just within the doors, to provide a liquid deflector preventing the general ingress of moisture which is frequently experienced. The curtain roller is installed adjacent the roof, being usually of the spring retracted type. The curtain does not seal the rear aperture, but is generally impermeable and serves to severely limit the ingress of atmospheric moisture when the truck is in motion, to thereby safeguard the load against untoward dampness and spoilation.

  • Patent number: 4179152
Abstract: A method and apparatus for wind-proofing during inclement weather the connecting edges of a fabric top deployed on four-wheeled vehicles is set out, wherein the fabric top is conventionally secured to the frame of the vehicle by way of various fasteners, the interspaces between such fasteners being further secured by pile strips mounted on semi-rigid material adhesively attached to the vehicle. The corresponding segments of the fabric top are similarly provided with overlying loop strips sewn to the fabric, the loop engaging the pile in a manner similar to that achieved by the material structure commonly sold under the mark "VELCRO." It is intended to dispose such attachment strips at the wind-receiving locations in the vehicle, such as for example, at the leading edge of the door and at the attachment edges of the top.
