Abstract: Systems and methods for moving a convertible bench between a first position, which presents a backrest, and a second position, which presents a table top, is described herein. While the described systems can include any suitable component, in some cases, they include a base having a first end piece that has a first set of legs with a first arched leg support that extends between the first set of legs and a second end piece having a second set of legs with a second arched leg support that extends between the second set of legs. The bench further includes a backrest/table portion that is hingedly coupled to the base so as to be pivotable from a first position that presents a backrest to a second position that presents a table top. Other implementations are described.

Abstract: A seating system includes a base, and a seat mounted on the base and defining a seating surface. A backrest is configured for movement relative to the base and the seat between a first position and a second position by a backrest transfer arrangement having a movable pivot axis configuration. In the second position, the backrest defines a working surface spaced above and lying generally parallel to the seating surface.

Abstract: A furniture assembly maneuverable from a first position to a second position has a first seat portion having a channel formed in an end thereof, a second seat portion positioned below the first seat portion, a first back portion positioned adjacent the end of the first seat portion, and a second back portion having a front surface positioned adjacent a back surface of the first back portion when in the first position. The second seat portion has legs extending from a bottom surface thereof adjacent a side thereof. The second seat portion has legs extending from the bottom surface thereof adjacent an opposite side thereof. The first back portion has keyholes on the back surface thereof. The second back portion has mushrooms on the front surface thereof. The mushrooms are removably placed in the keyholes when the first position.

Abstract: A stackable chair has a backrest mounted on back supports by resilient mount units for tilting between an upright position and a tilted-back position. Each mount unit includes a rigid coupling member having a lower portion received within an upper end portion of the respective back support and pivotally joined to the respective back support and having an upper portion received within and affixed to a socket in the backrest. A compression spring received within the upper end portion of the back support and engaged between the lower portion of the coupling member and a front wall of the respective back support biases the backrest to the upright position. An armrest is slidably supported on an armrest support for simultaneous and controlled pivotal movement about a substantially vertical pivot axis of a rearward part of the armrest relative to a forward part of the armrest and translatory movement in a plane perpendicular to the pivot axis. Movements of the armrests permit dense stacking of the chairs.

Abstract: A rear seat having a backrest provided with a back board includes a first link member, a second link member, a sliding member, an elastic member, and a stopper. The back board is arranged to be automatically deployed by the elastic member in such a manner that the movement of the sliding member integrated with the back board is controlled in conjunction with a folding condition of the backrest. Accordingly, in the present invention the drawbacks such as falling or sticking of a luggage are effectively addressed.

Abstract: A bucket seat fold out diaper changing table located within a vehicle. The table provides a surface for use while changing the diaper or clothing of an infant or for other activities and objects that require a surface area. The table is configured as a plastic molded seat back of a bucket seat. The table includes a surface member that provides a surface area, a first open end and a second open end. A first panel and a second panel are arranged within the surface member. The first panel slides out of the first open end of the surface member and retracts back into the surface member via the first open end. The second panel slides out of the second open end of the surface member and retracts back into the surface member via the second open end. The first panel and the second panel are used to provide additional surface area for facilitating the changing of an infant or other activity requiring table surface area.

Abstract: A folding combination chair and table assembly (1) including a seat (2) mounted on support legs (3, 4) and a back rest (5) mounted on a support (6) which is continuous with one said legs; the back rest capable of rotation about said support such that in one position of forms a back rest and in another a bench or table; wherein said back rest is supported by said support at a side edge (9) of the back rest and wherein said support is disposed at a location which allows a person seated on the chair to adopt a first seated position in which the person's back engages said back rest and a second seated position wherein the person may use the back rest as a table and rotate his or her legs from said first position to said second position without obstruction by said rest support member.

Abstract: The infant product of the invention is of the type having an infant receptacle suspended from a frame. The infant product is foldable between a deployed position for use and a compact configuration for shipping and storage. In the assembled configuration, the infant receptacle is convertible between a bassinet configuration in which the infant receptacle has a substantially planar support surface and an infant seat configuration in which the support surface of the infant receptacle is partially titled or disposed at an angle such that the infant can be supported in an elevated or seated position. The infant product may include a fabric canopy incorporating floating webs and a quick connect system for securing the canopy in an open position. When the canopy is closed, it is folded so as to lie flat against the infant receptacle. The infant receptacle may also include a lateral support assembly to cradle the infant.

Abstract: A load floor seat assembly for an adjustable seat is disclosed movable from a normal position to a load floor position. A seat base is adapted to be attached to a motor vehicle floor, at least one seat back arm is pivotably mounted to the seat base about a seat back pivot, and a seat back is pivotably attached to the seat back arm about a load floor pivot. A load floor assembly is attached to the seat back so that in the normal position the seat back is generally perpendicular to the seat base, and in the load floor position the seat back is generally parallel with the seat base and rotated about the load floor pivot, so that the load floor assembly covers the seat back and the seat base.

Abstract: A convertible furniture article (1) can be configured alternatively to provide a bench-type seat, a picnic table or work bench, or a platform or staging. The article has a rigid base frame (2) which supports a seat (4) and a movable top structure that can serve as a table top (3), a platform, or a back rest associated with the seat. Two such articles can be juxtaposed in confronting relation to provide a picnic table. The article can be designed to provide seating for one or more individuals according to its size, and can also serve as a work bench or a desk with an adjustably inclinable top surface.

Abstract: A valet comprises a frame having a first storage box pivotally secured to the frame. The first storage box includes a front panel and a rear panel, an internal chamber formed therein and a lid for providing access to the internal chamber. The storage box is pivotally secured to the frame such that the storage box is pivotal between an upright alignment wherein the front and rear panels are substantially vertically aligned and a horizontal alignment wherein the front and rear panels are generally horizontally aligned. An elongated slot is formed in a bottom panel of the storage box and extends into communication with the internal chamber. A first layer of compressible material is secured within the internal chamber of said box and a second layer of compressible material is secured to an inner surface of the lid.

Abstract: A multiple-position chair has a main frame, a lower frame, and an intermediate frame. The main frame has a pair of parallel longitudinal side bars having lower ends normally engaging the ground and upper ends and a transverse bar interconnecting the lower ends. The lower frame has a pair of parallel side bars having upper ends pivoted about a lower transverse axis on the main frame intermediate the main-frame ends and lower ends normally engaging the ground. The lower-frame side bars each are formed intermediate their ends with a row of upwardly open seats. Another transverse bar interconnects the lower ends of the lower-frame side bars. The intermediate frame has a pair of parallel side bars having upper ends pivoted on the main-frame side bars about an intermediate transverse axis at the main-frame upper ends and lower ends and a transverse bar interconnecting the lower ends of the intermediate-frame side bars and fittable in the seats of the lower frame side bars.

Abstract: A locking member for use on a article of furniture, the article of furniture having frame means carrying a fixed seat section and a movable common section, the support member rotatably mounted on the frame and movable from a first non-locked seat back position to a second locked table top position, the support member being maintained in its first non-locked seat back position by gravity, and in its second locked table top position by the locking member. The support member comprises a box-shaped housing member rotatably carried on the frame means, with the locking member loosely contained between the frame member and the housing member for rotational movement with the housing member. The locking member is longitudinally movable from a first non-wedging position to a second wedging position to lock by wedging action the support member in its second or table top position.

Abstract: A folding seat/table arrangement has transverse seat members (10,12) and transverse backrest/table top members (14,16) carried on transversely-spaced folding frames (18). In those frames, backrest supports (34) are pivotable relative to seat member carriers (30) between first and second stable end positions, by virtue of connecting links (38) which connect said supports (34) to rear seat legs (24). In one position (as shown) the backrest transverse members (14,16) are supported as an upright backrest for seated persons. In the other position, the backrest transverse members (14,16) are supported by props (48) from rearwardly-inclined backrest supports (34), in a horizontal table-top posture.

Abstract: A combined foldable table and bench unit embodies a pair of elongated seats arranged in parallel, spaced relation to each other. Transverse, vertically extending frame supports mounted adjacent the ends of each seat support the seats above a supporting surface. An arm is pivotally connected at one end thereof to an upper front portion of each frame support. The arms are adapted for pivotal movement selectively to a rearwardly extending horizontal position and to a vertical position. A back support member extends between and is carried by the other ends of the arms of each elongated seat. When the arms extend rearwardly and horizontally, the back support members carried thereby extend vertically and define facing benches. When the arms are pivoted to their vertical positions, the back support members are pivoted to a horizontal position with adjacent portions thereof in abutting relation with each other to define a table at an elevation above the seats.

Abstract: An improved, space-saving bench/table combination assembly which is convenient, compactable and storable, as well as being exceptionally stable and steady in fully expanded disposition, comprises a bench section or portion having pivotally attached thereto a seat back component or portion adapted to be placed at least substantially upright with respect to the seat section which component folds upwardly and outwardly forward ahead of the bench section to present and position its front section in a substantially horizontal plane as a table top from which top depends at its leading or outermost extended edge fold-out legs that are retractable to storage on the back side of the seat back component providing positive and solid table support nicely effective beyond the center of gravity between the leading edge of the table and the bench section of the completely unfolded assembly when it is in such position.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved apparatus for use in connection with a convertible table, seat structure whereby the back portion of the seat can be moved to a position relative to the seat portion of the seat such that the back portion functions as a table top and incorporates a locking device for securely locking the back portion of the seat when such back portion of the seat has been moved to its table top position.

Abstract: A furniture combination including a seat and a table mounted on the seat for movement between a position of use in front of the seat and a storage position wherein the table top is disposed in an edgewise upright position at the rear of the seat. The table, when in its use position, may be adjustable toward and away from the seat to locate the table in a comfortable position for a person occupying the seat. The seat may be a chair, sofa, convertible sofa or the like.
