Abstract: A feeding system comprising a spoon body having a concave feeding portion surrounded by an upper elliptical edge, a longitudinal handle having a pair of opposite ends, one end of the handle being attached to the spoon body and the other end of the handle constituting a first connector, and a compressible reservoir adapted to contain a predetermined quantity of food therein and having a second connector thereon engageable with the first connector, a passageway extending from the concave portion of the spoon body longitudinally through the handle and to the first connector so as to provide fluid communication between the spoon body and the reservoir, whereby, upon application of compressive force in said reservoir, a portion of the food is forced through the connectors, through the passageway, and into the interior of the spoon body.

Abstract: A retractable knife has a blade cartridge removably received in a cavity of handle. The cartridge comprises two clips on top and bottom sides, an elongate top slot, a rear slit two elastic members having top ends urged upward against a bottommost backup blade, a limiting protrusion engaged with a topmost backup blade for preventing it from moving out of rear slit incidentally, and a guide rail engaged with a second topmost backup blade for orderly guiding backup blades toward slot. In an operation, push a push button rearward to move the topmost backup blade out of the slit. Further, in another operation, push clips rearward for removing blade cartridge for replacement.

Abstract: The present invention describes a wick cutting device, particulary designed to clip the wicks of candles to a specified length. The invention comprises two cylinders, one with a grip and one with a handle. The wick trimmer is assembled as a cylinder inside a cylinder in which the inner cylinder has a steel blade at the bottom. The inner cylinder rotates within the outer cylinder. The wick is cut with a simple twist of the handle.

Abstract: This invention would make shaving for the traveler more convenient. You would only have to have one razor and would not have to carry a cumbersome can of shaving cream or gel. It could be used by hotels and hospitals, and sold in airports, train and bus stations, and any convenience stores.

Abstract: An improved hand tool for trimming and deburring the edges of objects made of various materials is provided with an elongated body member having a longitudinal channel formed therein for receiving the edge of the object to be trimmed. An elongated opening passes through the body member, from its lower surface into open communication with the longitudinal channel. An elongated blade is secured within the body member and positioned to selectively adjustably pass through the opening into the longitudinal channel to engage the edge being passed through the longitudinal channel. An adjustment assembly allows for incremental and consistent adjustment of the blade's cutting depth. Storage compartments are provided within the body member for conveniently and safely storing replacement blades.

Abstract: An improved utility knife with an ergonomically shaped handle having a cavity and a working blade holder slidably disposed within the cavity is described. A bottom release lever and a top drive lever are pivotally mounted to the handle and movable with respect to the handle for releasing and moving the working blade holder, respectively. The knife includes an extra blade holder slidably mounted to the handle and movable with respect to the handle within the cavity. The extra blade holder includes a front support end for engagement with a working blade, whereby slidable displacement of the extra blade holder disengages the support end from the working blade to allow removal and replacement of the working blade from the utility knife.

Abstract: A hair clipper has a housing and a pair of blades secured outside of the housing. One of the blades is stationary, and the other reciprocates. A hair trimmer or other attachment is tethered to the hair clipper so that it can be selectively placed over the hair clipper blades in use, but is not lost when removed from the blades. The attachment is stored in a recess in the housing when not in use.

Abstract: A removable storage compartment assembly for a material cutter comprising a compartment placement region and a removable storage compartment. The storage compartment includes a compartment lower portion removably engaged to the compartment placement region and a compartment upper portion removably and mateably engaged to the compartment lower portion. A biasing member is operatively connected to the compartment lower portion. When the compartment lower portion is disengaged from the compartment placement region, the biasing member biases the compartment lower portion away from the compartment placement region.

Abstract: A razor blade tool relating to overcoming single use shortcomings of current utility knives allows a user to select multiple razor blade positions. Each razor blade position allows a razor blade tool to be utilized for a different purpose, such as scraping, case cutting, twine cutting, and as a knife. Additional razor blades are stored in a razor blade tool in a manner that prevents the sharpened edges of razor blades from contacting side-walls of the storage area so that stored razor blades remain sharp and undamaged.

Abstract: A cooking utensil is provided which can be stood invertedly upright and stored temporarily in a hygienic manner, without taking up space. The cooking utensil includes a shank portion, a head portion, a supporting member, and a liquid receiving member. The supporting member is formed at an end section of the shank portion and supports the cooking utensil in an inverted upright state with the head portion in an upward position. And the liquid receiving member is formed on the shank portion and/or head portion for receiving liquid adhering to the head portion when the cooking utensil is invertably stood.

Abstract: A utility knife which has a slidable blade carrier located within an internal chamber of a housing. When the blade carrier is extended it has mounted thereon an engaging block with this engaging block being biased by a single spring to an outer engaging position which will connect the engaging block with the innermost blade of the stack of blades and sliding movement of the blade carrier will result in that innermost blade to protrude from the housing. The engaging block is mounted by a pair of pins which are mounted on the blade carrier. Movement of the blade carrier is accomplished by a thumb button where the inner portion of the thumb button is laterally displaced from the outer portion of the thumb button in order to maximize the space within a blade storage chamber formed within the housing.

In its blade retaining position, the blade retainer secures the blade to the blade mounting portion. A forward edge portion of the blade is received between the forward blade engaging portion and the blade mounting portion. A rearward blade engaging structure and the blade mounting portion support a rearward portion of the blade. In its releasing position, the blade retainer releases the blade for replacement. Grip portions are operatively connected to the jaws to open and close the jaws.

In the open position, the primary knife blade and its spares can be accessed. A one-piece gripping member can be secured to the knife to overlap both handles.

The knife has a housing made up of a first cover and a second cover coupled together and fastened by at least one screw. A blade is slidably contained in the housing. The utility knife of the invention can be used in dim light because an illuminating device is provided in the knife. The illuminating device includes a bulb installed near the blade, a battery chamber defined in the housing for containing at least one battery, and a switch used for actuating the bulb. Additionally, a spare blade drawer is provided and slidably contained in a passage defined in the housing. At least one spare blade is stored in the spare blade drawer and therefore is easy to be taken out for use.

Abstract: A method and tool for repairing worn seams in sheet materials, such as linoleum or vinyl floor coverings, is disclosed. The tool is a specially constructed, double bladed utility knife. The tool has dual cutting blades that are rigidly secured to the tool for precision cutting. The blades are set at a slightly divergent angle relative to one another, and the distance between the blades is adjustable. The tool may be used to repair a damaged seam in a floor covering as follows. First, the blades are set to span the widest portion of the damaged portion of the seam. Cutting pressure is applied and the tool is drawn along the seam to remove the damaged portion. The blades are then adjusted to a slightly wider-apart position, and the tool is used in a similar manner to cut a repair piece from a matching piece of material. The repair piece is then adhered to the floor and will fit snugly between the adjoining pieces of material to accomplish a perfect repair of the seam.

The feeding spoon has a flattened bowl at one end for supporting soft foods or liquids as they are placed into the mouth. The other end of the spoon is branched to form two completely separated structures, the handle and the food storage tank. The handle is linearly aligned with the bowl of the spoon, and the food storage tank extends upwardly from the handle at an angle. The food storage tank is hollow, and has an increased diameter relative to the handle so as to accommodate several ounces of soft food or liquid. By mounting the food storage tank at an upward angle relative to the bowl of the spoon and handle, gravity is used to urge the food material into the bowl portion and complicated mechanical parts are not required to propel the food toward the bowl of the spoon.

Abstract: A device for cutting workpieces is in the form of pliers. One plier arm carries on an operating-end section an interchangeable blade. The blade can be moved toward and engages against an anvil of the operating-end section of the other plier arm by moving the plier arms toward one another. In order to improve the handling of such a cutting device, each plier arm includes a handle section. One of the two handle sections forms a selectively closeable storage chamber for storing spare blades. The chamber is in a core part of one of the plier arms and is covered and closed by a handle shell.

Abstract: A telescoping series of coaxial nested tubes 1-4 extend to provide an elongated handle. Each inner tube of the series has a back end with a gradual conical flare. Each tube that encloses a smaller tube has a front end with a gradual conical reduction. At full extension the tubes stop and bind against each other, so no clamps or screws are needed. A pruning saw blade 7 is attached to the front end of the innermost tube 4. The innermost tube is shorter than the outer tube 1 by at least the length of the saw blade, so that all the tubes and the blade retract within the outer tube. Caps 10 and 13 close the outer tube on each end. A resilient damper in each cap presses against the ends of the inner tubes, preventing motion and noise among them. A spare saw blade can be enclosed in the innermost tube 4. It can be retained in a hole in the back damper 11, or in a resilient slotted plug in the innermost tube. The front cap 13 preferably includes a direction-finding compass 15 for wilderness use.

Abstract: A nozzle assembly for a power tool that generates dust includes a housing surrounding a portion of the power tool, an outlet section of the housing for accommodating the flow of dust away from the power tool and a conduit that is coupled with the outlet section to direct the flow of dust from the housing. During operation of the power tool, the conduit is rigidly coupled with the outlet section in an advanced position in which rotational movement of the conduit relative to the outlet section is impeded. The direction of dust flow out of the conduit may be selectively adjusted by transferring the assembly to a retracted position in which rotational movement of the conduit relative to the outlet section is substantially unimpeded. The outlet section and conduit may be tapered so that the advanced position is obtained through a friction fit.

Abstract: A handheld candle wick cutting device enables an individual to trim the excess long candle wick on any flat-top candles, but especially on candles positioned deep in a narrow candle jar/holder or the like. The wick cutting device includes a main outer tube and an inner tube which has an outer diameter slightly smaller than the inner diameter of the outer tube. The inner tube is rotatably installed within the outer tube and being longer than the outer tube. A pair of cutting blades are mounted to the outer and inner tubes perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, at an operable location to cause a cutting action when one of the tubes is rotated. Each blade has an off-center cutting aperture which when superimposed create a through opening in the cutting device, where a candle wick may be partially inserted therein and perpendicular to the two cutting blades.

Abstract: A utility knife that includes a main body, a blade holder assembly movably mounted within the body and a manually engageable member slidably mounted on the main body. The blade holder assembly is constructed and arranged to mount a blade within the main body. The blade holder is movable between a retracted position wherein the blade is disposed within the main body and an extended position wherein the blade protrudes outwardly from the main body to enable a cutting operation. The manually engageable member is operatively connected with the blade holder assembly and is movable to move the blade holder assembly between its extended and retracted positions. The utility knife further includes a blade storage member pivotally connected with the main body. The blade storage member is constructed and arranged to carry a supply of spare blades and is movable between a closed position wherein the spare blades are concealed and a fully opened position permitting access to the spare blades.

Abstract: A hand-held power saw (10) having a housing (112) which includes a blade storage chamber (124) and a retaining member (130) for holding at least one spare saw blade (26) within the storage chamber. In one embodiment the retaining member comprises a rubber component having a pair of arms (136). Each arm has a groove (138) formed therein which holds a ball bearing (140). The ball bearings are biased into contact with one another once the retaining member is assembled into a housing portion of the tool within the storage chamber. When a spare saw blade is inserted into the storage chamber a portion thereof is urged between the ball bearings. The resiliency of the rubber arms causes the ball bearings to grasp the spare saw blade and retain it within the storage chamber. The opposite end of the blade engages a foam-like member (150) held within a recess (124c) at the opposite end of the storage chamber which prevents the blade from rattling within the chamber.

A head is formed on the second end of the base and includes a first compartment for receiving spare tools and a second compartment for receiving a service tool when not in use. Each of the tools includes an end having an engaging hole and a slit extended from the engaging hole to an end edge of the tool. A fixing seat is pivotally mounted to the head and includes a groove for securely holding the end of the service tool. The fixing seat includes a transverse hole having a first part that slidably receives a latch member and a second part that slidably receives a push pin, while the engaging hole of the service tool locates between the first part and the second part. The push pin has a first end secured to the latch member to move therewith and a second end for manual operation. The engaging hole of each tool is sized to be smaller than a diameter of the latch member and greater than a diameter of the push pin.

Abstract: A cutting/scraping tool is disclosed, comprising a housing defining a longitudinal axis, a transverse chamber, and a blade chase adjacent a forward end of the housing. A cartridge is releasably retained within the chamber by detent lugs extending laterally from an outer surface of the cartridge in frictional engagement with a plurality of complementary detent recesses positioned on the housing. A blade within the cartridge is in aligned registry with the blade chase. A deflector is positioned beneath the blade. A transport mechanism is slidably mounted on the housing for substantially longitudinal movement between forward, intermediate and rearmost positions. An actuator projects from this housing to effect the sliding movement of the transport mechanism. The transport mechanism has a flexible, resilient tongue portion. A tab is formed on the tongue portion within the housing adjacent a forward end of the transport mechanism.

The knife handle provides improved retention of a knife blade under torsional loads applied to the blade through the use of two or more longitudinally spaced retention tabs that capture both forward and rearward portions of the blade.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a shaving razor which has been engineered to eject a flowable lubricant onto a skin surface upon demand. The razor has a hollow handle neck and head and lubricant feed mechanism. The feed mechanism utilizes a piston which moves upward in the hollow handle to force lubricant through the neck and head of the razor to be injected near a blade fixed to the razor head.
