Compound Blade Movement Patents (Class 30/237)
  • Patent number: 11787072
Abstract: A utility knife configured with a retractable cutting blade that is extended and retracted by a blade actuation mechanism. The blade actuation mechanism employs a blade trigger assembly and a blade carriage assembly that are operably connected in variety of configurations. Certain configurations of the blade actuation mechanism utilize a rack-and-pinion arrangement between the blade trigger assembly and the blade carriage assembly, which enables the automatic retraction of the cutting blade as the cutting blade is lifted from the cutting surface.

  • Patent number: 11090788
Abstract: A disassembling tool is provided, including: a main body, a screw rod, a screw barrel and a bearing. The main body includes a first end portion, a second end portion and a receiving space. The first end portion includes a through hole. The screw rod penetrates through the through hole. The screw barrel is screwed on the screw rod. The bearing is sleeved to the screw rod and includes an inner ring, an outer ring and a plurality of rollers. The inner ring includes a first base board and a first annular portion which are transversely connected with each other, and the outer ring includes a second base board and a second annular portion which are transversely connected with each other. The plurality of rollers are abutted against and between the first and second base boards and between the first and second ring portions.

  • Patent number: 9736990
Abstract: A gardening shears includes two handles, a first shear blade connected to one handle and providing a suspension arm portion, a linking rod connected to the other handle, a second shear blade coaxially pivoted to the first shear blade and the linking rod and providing an elongated slot, and a control unit including an arched guide member fixedly connected with its one end to the linking rod and a guide wheel pivotally connected to the suspension arm portion of the first shear blade with a guiding protrusion thereof inserted into the elongated slot of the second shear blade. Thus, when opening and closing the handles, the mating arrangement of the arched guide member, the guide wheel and the elongated slot of the second shear blade enables the first and second shear blade to implement the shearing action twice.

  • Patent number: 9591808
Abstract: A gardening shears includes a first blade, a driving arm pivoted to the first blade, a second blade pivoted to the first blade, and a link arm pivotally connected between the driving arm and the second blade. The bottom portion of the second blade has a sliding groove and positioning recesses. A switching device installed inside the driving arm is locatable at a first usage position where an end of the link arm is stationarily engaged with a positioning recess next to the top end of the sliding groove for enabling a direct cutting mode for cutting a small-sized branch, and a second usage position where the end of the link arm is slidable in the sliding groove and selectively engageable with one of the positioning recesses for enabling a stepwise cutting mode for stepwise cutting off a large-sized branch by changing the force-applying fulcrum.

  • Patent number: 9572301
Abstract: A switch-free multi-cutting mode shearing tool includes a shearer including a first handle and a second handle pivotally connected together, a cutter blade pivoted to the first handle, a link pivoted to the second handle, and a pushing element mounted at the second handle. The cutter blade has a cutting edge protruding over a front end of the first handle, an actuation portion projecting between the first and second handles, an elongated slot located in the actuation portion and a plurality of engagement grooves inside the elongated slot. The link has a pin located at a movable end thereof and inserted into and movable along the elongated slot and selectively engageable into one of the engagement grooves, such that when the first and second handles are closed toward each other, the pushing element is forced to touch and push the actuation portion of the cutter blade.

  • Patent number: 5303475
Abstract: A hand-operated cutting tool in the form of shears having handle portions and cutting portions pivoted so that the cutting portions may be rotatably moved toward and away from each other. The cutting portions each include a pair of cutting edges angularly disposed with respect to each, providing an included angle there between which is obtuse. As the cutting edges are rotated toward each other, a first portion thereof are brought into sliding, overlapping contact for shearing a flexible material such as flexible ducting and a second portion thereof are brought in sliding, overlapping contact for cutting wire.

  • Patent number: 4080733
Abstract: This invention relates to linesmen pliers, bolt cutters and similar cutting tools which require a mechanical advantage. Durability and long life are prime features of the design. Disk blades are used, and these have cutting edges of two inches circumference, which is about four times the cutting length of conventional straight-blade cutting pliers. The blades are offset and overlapped, thus eliminating separation that occurs with wear. Also, the blades are replaceable; thus the tool can continue to serve the purpose for which it was made long after the original blades become too dull to cut.As to mechanical advantage, first and second class leverage and a double toggle action are used. The combination of these actions exceeds by far the mechanical advantage of conventional cutting pliers.
