Abstract: A cover includes a wear detection component. The wear detection component includes a wear layer and a visual wear indicator. The wear layer is designed and configured to reduce its thickness to a threshold thickness, or to disintegrate, after a preselected number of cleanings have been experience by the cover. The visual wear indicator is configured to indicate to the user that the cover has been through a threshold number of cleanings. When the wear layer has reduced its thickness to the threshold thickness, or has disintegrated, the wear layer reveals the visual wear indicator, indicating to the user that the cover is ready for replacement.

Abstract: A new and useful thermochromic liquid crystal Indicator is disclosed that provides an indication of the temperature of the Object to which the Indicator is attached, and is an improvement over the existing art for at least the fact that the impact of ambient air circulating around the Indicator and circulating the Object is reduced by several means, such as i) the use of a novel cap or housing to isolate the liquid crystal Structure from ambient air and from touching or ii) using a novel liquid crystal formulation that reduces the reaction time of the thermochromic liquid crystal contained in the Indicator to changing temperatures conveyed by the ambient air. The new and useful liquid crystal Indicator can also employ either a template or a colored filter as a mask that narrows the colors and narrows the range of temperatures indicated by the Indicator.

Abstract: A surgical blade adapted to be typically used in medical procedures is disclosed. The blade is provided with markings located near the cutting edge. The markings are configured to be indicative of the depth of the blade and/or of the cutting edge during the incision of an organic tissue. The markings are configured to substantially follow the shape of the cutting edge such as to indicate the depth of the blade substantially independently of the orientation thereof.

Abstract: A utility blade for use with conventional retractable and fixed blade utility knives comprising a blade body having a generally trapezoidal configuration defined by a cutting edge, an opposite back edge, a pair of opposing side edges and a pair of cutting points defined by the points of intersection between the side edges and the cutting edge. The blade further defines a pair of score lines, each proximate to one of the side edges. The score lines enable the user to remove a dulled or damaged cutting point, which in turn provides the user with two additional cutting points defined by the points of intersection between the score lines and the cutting edge. Further, the blade is configured with one or more notches strategically located on the back edge of the blade, such that each cutting point can extend from the utility knife at approximately the same distance.

Abstract: A novel razor cartridge is disclosed where the cartridge comprises at least one indicium incorporated onto an exterior surface of at least one component of the razor cartridge. The indicia may include functional and/or aesthetic benefits communicated or obtained to the user before, during or after use the razor product. In one embodiment, the indicia are water droplets recessed into the lube ring of the razor cartridge, conveying the benefits of the lube ring and/or razor product to the consumer such as skin moisturization and/or the release of lubricant.
