  • Patent number: 9604294
Abstract: A shearing blade for a cutting device includes a main body that has a seat and a blade insert that is arranged on the seat and forms a cutting wedge, wherein the cutting wedge forms a cutting edge via a flank face and a pressure face at an angle to the flank face. The seat has at least one undercut face that acts in a direction transverse to the flank face. When the blade insert is inserted, the undercut face interacts with at least one form-closure face formed on the blade insert, whereby a form closure taking effect transversely to the flank face is established. The blade insert is fastened to the main body by at least one pin-shaped plug-in connection element, which is oriented perpendicular to the flank face and which is arranged in aligned holes in the main body and in the blade insert.

  • Patent number: 9359391
Abstract: A method to cleave C—C and C—O bonds in ?-O-4 linkages in lignin or lignin sub-units is described. The method includes oxidizing at least a portion of secondary benzylic alcohol groups in ?-O-4 linkages in the lignin or lignin sub-unit to corresponding ketones and then leaving C—O or C—C bonds in the oxidized lignin or lignin sub-unit by reacting it with an organic carboxylic acid, a salt of an organic carboxylic acids, and/or an ester of an organic carboxylic acids. The method may utilize a metal or metal-containing reagent or proceed without the metal or metal-containing reagent.

Abstract: An electric saw device includes a first saw blade and a second saw blade. The first and the second saw blades are respectively driven by a small transmission shaft and a large transmission shaft to rotate in opposite directions. A round rib is disposed on an inner end surface of the first saw blade, and at least three recessed holes are arranged in a top end surface of the round rib at equal angle intervals. A steel ball is accommodated in each of the recessed holes, and protrudes out of the recessed hole. Protruding ends of the steel balls urge against an inner surface of the second saw blade, so as to limit a distance between the first saw blade and the second saw blade, and form a rolling friction when the first and the second saw blade rotate in the opposite directions. Further, a power output shaft of the electric saw device is joined with the small transmission shaft of the first saw blade through a key connection structure, so as to ensure that the saw blades do not tilt after installation.

  • Patent number: 7627952
Abstract: The present invention provides a vegetation trimmer comprising a cutting head (20) located at one end thereof, a rear handle (60) located at the other end thereof, a motor (10), and a flexible drive shaft (30) for transferring the output of the motor to the cutting head, wherein the motor is located in a substantially central position on the vegetation trimmer. Preferably, the motor is located beneath the flexible drive shaft when the vegetation trimmer is oriented with the rear handle thereof uppermost. The vegetation trimmer of the invention has improved balance and inertia, making it easier for a user to operate, and in certain embodiments thereof can be made more compact than a conventional vegetation trimmer having a flexible drive shaft for greater ease of shipping and storage.

  • Publication number: 20080066326
Abstract: A saw for cutting a rectangular hole for electrical or data outlets in gypsum board. The saw includes a handle, and rectangular frame cutting element that cuts all four sides of a rectangular hole in a single operation. Each cutting surface on the frame typically has several sets of stepped teeth so that the highest tooth in the step engages the board first; then the second highest tooth engages the board after the first tooth has partially cut into the board. This stepped tooth approach provides an effect similar to have started several separate saws independently along each of the four sides of the hole. The handle provides leverage to effectively engage each of these sets of teeth at the same time. The tool is typically worked by moving the handle side to side or up and down in short strokes to move the teeth through the board.

  • Patent number: 6976313
Abstract: A battery-powered carving knife is shown having a housing and a switch, which connects and disconnects a battery to a motor. A drive mechanism including a worm gear together with a cam member causes reciprocation of reciprocating blade mounts to reciprocate back and forth in an out of phase fashion. The motor is positioned forward within the housing in motor receiving section, with the drive shaft of the motor facing rearwardly. The blade mounts are driven by the motor, and reciprocate in a position below the motor. The motor and blade mounts are positioned in front of a handgrip section, thereby improving the ergonomics of the device. Alternatively, the drive shaft can be positioned facing forward.

  • Patent number: 6401585
Abstract: A saw blade for in-line reciprocating hand-held power saws has first and second types of cutting teeth adapted to cut materials of disparate hardness disposed on its first and second oppositely disposed cutting edges. Saw blades according to the invention are fabricated in a die having first and second longitudinally oriented sections. Band saw blade material having a back edge and a factory cutting edge having teeth adapted to cut a first type of material is placed in the die. When closed under pressure, the first die section cuts the back edge of the band saw blade material in the desired second edge of the saw blade. The second die section cuts a desired type of cutting teeth on a previously shaped second cutting edge of a blade. A power saw equipped with the saw blade cuts a first component of material having a first hardness using the first cutting edge of a blade.
