  • Patent number: 7278693
Abstract: A hub has an inner surface defining a bore centered on an axis, an outer surface surrounding the inner surface, and two slots extending in radially opposite directions from the bore to the outer surface. A shaft is configured to be received in the bore and has a circumferentially extending groove. A bent wire spring clip is configured to engage and mechanically interlock the hub and the shaft. The clip has a C-shaped section, two diametrically opposed bowed sections extending from opposite ends of the C-shaped section, and a two straight end sections respectively extending from ends of the two bowed sections to two distal ends of the clip. The clip is configured to have an installed position in which the bowed sections of the clip extend circumferentially in the groove at opposite sides of the shaft, and the end sections and the C-shaped section extend radially outward through the slots.

  • Patent number: 7165815
Abstract: A wheel assembly includes a main body, two wheels, two positioning shafts, and two retaining rods. In practice, the retaining portion of each of the retaining rods is urged on the positioning plates of the respective positioning shaft to position the locking portion of each of the positioning plates on the inner side the respective pivot hole of the main body so as to lock each of the two positioning shafts on the main body, so that each of the two wheels is attached on the main body rigidly and stably, thereby preventing the two wheels from detaching from the main body during a long-term utilization.

  • Patent number: 6612658
Abstract: A heavy duty wheel-axle assembly for industrial trolley carts in which wheel assemblies are mounted at either end of an axle, an inner bearing race of each wheel positively non-rotationally secured to the axle by interengagement of a non-round shaped position of the axle fitting into a corresponding opening in the race. A hex shape on one end is used to fix one wheel assembly, held by a bolt threaded into a threaded axial bore in the one end of the axle. A pin is inserted into one of a series of axial hub in the hub outside face to engage one side of the bolt hex head. A tee head on the other end of the axle is fit into a recess in the outside face of the other but to establish a non-rotative connection.

  • Patent number: 4917442
Abstract: A connection for quickly mounting and removing wheels from a trailer, without removing or replacing lug nuts. The wheel assembly includes a non-rotating shaft or axle which serves as its journal. This journal is inserted and received snugly within a sleeve rigidly secured to the frame of the trailer, and pin and other connecting elements are added to prevent relative rotation and axial movement between journal and sleeve. Various embodiments are disclosed, including a simple pin dropped into aligned transverse openings in the two members and interfitting members on journal and sleeve which halt inward movement of the journal and its rotation, such as an axial pin and hole, radial slot and key, and touching flat surfaces on the two members.

  • Patent number: 4805941
Abstract: A quick-release wheel retainer consisting of a hooked-shaped member having a generally planar shaped tab attached thereto and extending outwardly therefrom approximately perpendicular to the hook-shaped member. The member is pivotally connected to a vertical drop-out of a bicycle front fork and the pivot connection is positioned directly above the drop-out slot such that, once in a locked position about a bicycle axle, the weight of the axle against the member causes the retainer to remain in that locked position.

  • Patent number: 4664290
Abstract: In a seed meter in which a seed disk is rotatably mounted within a housing, a method and apparatus are provided for positioning the seed disk within the housing so that the peripheral portion of the seed disk is located a desired, relatively uniform distance from an adjacent peripheral portion of the housing. A shaft having a threaded outer portion is rotatably mounted within the housing and a hub having a threaded aperture therein is positioned on and turned relative to the threaded outer portion of the shaft to begin advancing the threaded aperture onto the shaft. The seed disk is then mounted on the hub, following which rotation of the hub relative to the shaft is continued in a direction to advance the hub along the shaft toward the housing until a gap of desired size exists between the peripheral portion of the seed disk and the peripheral portion of the housing.
