Bayonet Means Patents (Class 301/118)
  • Patent number: 6409283
Abstract: A wheel assembly for a trunk-attached carriage includes an integrally formed wheel bracket having a vertical, a side and a bottom plate for mounting onto a lower rear corner of a trunk, a compression spring, a short wheel axle, a locking member, and a wheel. The wheel bracket defines a wheel-space for the wheel to locate therein. The wheel axle transversely extends across behind the vertical plate of the wheel bracket to pass through an axle hole on the wheel, so that the wheel is rotatably mounted on the wheel axle and connected the wheel bracket. An end of the wheel axle close to the side plate of the wheel bracket is connected to a diameter-reduced inner end of the locking member, so that the wheel axle can be turned into a locked position on the wheel bracket by turning a diameter-expanded outer end of the locking member. And, by turning the locking member in a reverse direction, the wheel axle can be removed from the wheel bracket for replacement of any damaged component of the wheel assembly.

  • Patent number: 4963115
Abstract: A construction toy set whose main component is a cubical open-top box, the bottom and side walls of which are divided into quadrants, each having a keyhole therein and a coupling collar encircling the keyhole and projecting from the quadrant. Also included in the set are cylindrical spacers that fit over the collars and extend therefrom, wheels having cylindrical hubs that can slip over the spacers which then function as axles, and hub caps that rest against the outer end of the spacers or the wheel hubs, each cap having a center keyhole matching the quadrant keyhole. The components can be assembled and interconnected to create different structures by means of connector bolts each having a key at one end capable of passing through the keyholes.

  • Patent number: 4840599
Abstract: A wheel for a toy vehicle has a device whereby the wheel can be releasably and coaxially attached to a hub mounted on an axle of the toy vehicle and/or to another wheel by way of a bayonet coupling so that wheels can be easily added or removed to increase or decrease the number of wheels on any axle or to interchange wheels with different tire treads. The coupling device is supported relative to a rim of the wheel so as to be coaxial therewith and angularly movable relative thereto. The coupling device has a part on an outer side of the wheel for enabling the coupling device to be turned angularly and a first part of the bayonet coupling on the inner side of the wheel. The second part of the bayonet coupling is provided on the hub and/or a like wheel.

  • Patent number: 4483400
Abstract: A removable transport wheel assembly for a ground penetrating machine such as a roto tiller for providing removable wheels for movement of the machine from place to place and loading and unloading. The machine has a transverse power driven shaft carrying earth working implements and having tubular transverse ends. Pin assemblies have shanks that pass diametrically through the transverse ends of the shaft. A pair of wheels are provided each having a stub axle with a diameter to be slip fitted in a transverse end of the shaft, and with an enlarged shoulder to engage the transverse end of the shaft to limit axle movement of the axle into the shaft. Each stub axle has a slot which engages the shank of the pin assembly. At the inner end of the slot is a groove which provides a seat for the shank of the pin assembly to releasably fasten the wheels to the shaft of the machine for transport from place to place. The wheels are readily removed for using the machine in an earth working function.
