Magnetic Field Type Patents (Class 310/103)
  • Patent number: 11732769
Abstract: A magnetically-coupled torque assist apparatus includes a movable (rotor) magnet configured to rotate about a rotor magnet axis extending through the rotor magnet, and a stationary (stator) magnet. The rotor magnet and the stator magnet have a gap therebetween. There is an equilibrium state position (ESP) of the rotor magnet where forces acting on the rotor magnet are balanced such that the rotor magnet is stationary about the rotor magnet axis. And when the rotor magnet is rotated from the equilibrium state position (ESP) to an elastically stressed state position (SSP), magnetic fields of the rotor magnet and the stator magnet generate a resultant magnetic force on the movable magnet that biases the movable magnet towards the equilibrium state position. In some embodiments, the stator and rotor magnets are configured to create a Halbach-effect magnetic field bloom, which contributes to the magnetic forces.

Abstract: A Magnetic Gear Modulator (MGM) of a Concentric Magnetic Gear (CMG) is manufactured by injection molding a modulator cage over angularly spaced apart MGM pole pieces made of a magnetically conducting material. The pole pieces are initially connected by a support ring, or held by a fixture. The modulator cage is preferably a thermally conductive strengthening fiber filled plastic, a carbon fiber plastic, a carbon fiber filled plastic material, a glass material, or a high performance composite plastic molding material. After molding, the outer and/or inner portions of the molding material, and support ring if present, are machined away preferably exposing both inner and outer faces of the pole pieces embedded in the modulator cage. An MGM made using injection molding over a connected support ring and pole pieces reduces cost, and a carbon fiber plastic modulator cage increases strength.

Abstract: The torque augmentation device has two primary embodiments. The first embodiment is two rotors, the rotors including rings of permanent magnets. The two rotors are angled with respect to each other. The magnetic field is disrupted on the bottom half by a ferrous flux diversion plate. With the forces unbalanced between the upper and lower halves of the rotors, rotation will result, thus augmenting the torque production of any associated rotational device. The second embodiment uses a straight shaft, with a single central rotor, both sides of the rotor covered in magnets. In place of adjacent rotors, the second half of the magnets is placed on fixed plates, one on each side of the central rotor. The fixed plates are set at an angle with respect to the central rotor, creating the unbalanced forces that cause rotation.

Abstract: A rotary magnetic transmission structure that can achieve stable transmission is provided. Two magnetic members having radial magnetic fields are fixed on each shaft of two parallel shafts A and B; the radial magnetic fields of the two co-axial magnetic members both spread at an angle greater than 60 degrees and less than 90 degrees; using the first magnetic members of each shaft A and B as references, the direction of opening of the angle between the radial magnetic field of the second magnetic member and the radial magnetic field of the co-axial first magnetic member on the same shaft is opposite to that on the other shaft. This structure can obviously reduce the peak effect at the two poles of the magnetic fields of the magnetic members between the two shafts, so that the transmission is stable during non-contact rotary transmission.

Abstract: A hand-driven, wheeled carrier deceleration device, applied to an axle of a hand-driven, wheeled carrier, is introduced and has a wheel, driven gear, reluctance motor and resistive component. The wheel, pivotally disposed at the axle, has a drive gear which rotates together with the wheel. The driven gear, disposed beside the axle, meshing with and driven by the drive gear, has a connection portion. The reluctance motor, connected to the connection portion and driven by the driven gear, has permanent magnets and metal elements. The metal elements and permanent magnets are arranged annularly. The metal elements rotate relative to the permanent magnets. The resistive component electrically connects to the permanent magnets. Therefore, a driving force exerted on the hand-driven, wheeled carrier is partially offset by reluctance to effectively slow down the hand-driven, wheeled carrier.

  • Patent number: 10141827
Abstract: The present invention is a machine in which the repulsion and attraction forces of moving electromagnets are utilized to power a series of linkages that ultimately turn a crank. The motor is controlled by an external computer system which distributes an electric current among the electromagnets. In order to reverse the polarities of the electromagnets, the direction of the current will be rapidly changing. This polarity reverse causes electromagnets to repel and attract. The magnets then oscillate along two swing arms that once swung because of both polarity attraction and repulsion, activate the linkages.

Abstract: A rotatable magnetic coupler includes disc carrying, circumferentially spaced magnets arranged in rows on a first side of the disc. The magnets are oriented such that one pole of a first magnetic polarity from each magnet faces outwardly from the disc rotation axis while the other pole of a second magnetic polarity for each magnet faces inwardly toward the axis of rotation. The inner row magnets are preferably of lesser height than the outer row magnets to intensify a virtual gear-coupling effect in the magnetic field lines. A magnetic coupling is formed when two such couplers are rotatably mounted sufficiently close to one another that their magnetic fields are coupled together, such that rotation of one coupler rotatably drives the second coupler.
