Multifrequency Patents (Class 310/170)
  • Patent number: 10495699
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for detecting a magnetic field include a magnetic source configured to provide a magnetic field to induce an eddy current in a non-ferromagnetic target, and a magnetic field sensing element configured to detect the magnetic field as a result of the eddy current. The magnetic field provided by the magnetic source can be a static (i.e. DC) field or a changing (i.e. non-DC) field.

  • Patent number: 9013132
Abstract: Two excitation coils (excitation A coil, excitation B coil) and two detection coils (detection A coil, detection B coil) are provided. The excitation A coil and the excitation B coil are excited at frequencies that are different from each other. The number of turns of the detection A coil and the detection B coil are respectively set with two sine waves using the number ms1 and ms2 of pole pairs. The number ms1 and ms2 of pole pairs, the number mx1 and mx2 of pole pairs of the excitation A coil and the excitation B coil, and the number mr of pole pairs of a rotor are set to have a predetermined relationship. A resolver having redundancy can be realized with small number of coils.

  • Patent number: 6867522
Abstract: A synchronous machine (10), in particular, for a starter-generator of an internal combustion engine, includes a stator, a rotor (22) having a rotor shaft (24), a stack of sheets (28), and squirrel cage (30) non-rotatably connected with the rotor shaft (24) and the stack of sheets (28). The squirrel cage (30) has a short circuit ring (36) on its opposite front ends, which is secured to an annular reinforcement element (40, 42). The reinforcement elements (40, 42) do not overlap adjacent, outer circumferential surfaces of the squirrel cage (32) or the short circuit rings (36).

  • Patent number: 5952758
Abstract: A rotating electrical machine including a rotor (2), the magnetic circuit of which carries excitation members, and a stator (16), the magnetic circuit of which carries a stator coil. The magnetic circuit of the rotor includes a shaft (1) on which are mounted end flanges (3) and at least one toothed disk (4) disposed between the end flanges, the teeth of the toothed disk being regularly spaced at its periphery, and at least one annular member (9) mounted on the end flanges and having slots (10) regularly distributed at its periphery and in each of which is engaged one tooth of at least one toothed disk. The end flanges and the toothed disk are spaced apart by gaps in which excitation members (14, 15) are accommodated.

  • Patent number: 5763976
Abstract: A stator wound resolver comprising: a stator and a rotor aligned on an axis; the stator having a plurality of teeth with input and output windings disposed on some or all of the teeth, the input and output windings exhibiting a mutual inductance characteristic that varies as a function of position of the rotor about the axis; the input winding being connectable to a drive signal and the output windings being disposed on the teeth such that output signals induced in the output windings correspond to position of the rotor; the rotor being attachable to a position changing means, the rotor comprising at least two axially spaced rotor pieces that are offset from each other by a stagger angle such that a portion of harmonic distortion produced by one of the rotor pieces is reduced by complementary harmonic distortion produced by another of the rotor pieces.

  • Patent number: 4945274
Abstract: In an angular pulse generator having a movable generator part and a read head, the read head has a primary winding (W1) fed with an alternating voltage of a defined frequency and has a secondary winding (W2) whose induced secondary voltage is modulated by passing teeth and intervening gaps of the generator part. An evaluation unit evaluates the phase difference between the alternating voltage and the secondary voltage and forms a pulse for every passing tooth. A stray flux return line surrounds the primary winding (W1), so that the majority part of the primary flux linked to the primary winding (W1) flows via the stray flux return line for a large gap distance of the generator part.

  • Patent number: 4160925
Abstract: A rotary machine type quadruple frequency converter of which a stator is mounted with a primary and a secondary winding having a pole ratio of 1 to 4. The rotor is arranged to have the same number of poles as the number of poles of the primary winding. The rotor pole is arranged to have a shape for producing magnetic flux of 4th harmonics of the source frequency which is supplied to the primary winding. A quadruple frequency power is generated on the secondary winding operating the converter with the source frequency power.
