Patent number: 4781423Abstract: A storage system is provided which can effectively store a variety of magnetic storage elements such as VHS video cassette packs, standard audio cassette packs, Beta video cassette packs, 51/4" floppy disc packs, and CD (compact disc) packs alternately in a given space in a drawer. The drawer has opposite sides with vertical tabs spaced along each side to form spaces that closely receive opposite ends of a VHS cassette pack. A pair of cassette adaptors can each lie in spaces otherwise occupied by a VHS cassette pack, the adaptors having vertical ribs that store standard audio cassettes in an orientation perpendicular to that of the VHS cassettes. A pair of disc pack adaptors can be mounted at opposite sides of the drawer, these adaptors having walls forming wide slots for holding CD disc packs and narrower slots at the bottom of the wide slots for holding 51/4" floppy disc packs. The disc pack adaptors hold the disc packs at an incline from the vertical to reduce their height and facilitate reading of titles.Type: GrantFiled: April 28, 1987Date of Patent: November 1, 1988Assignee: Certron CorporationInventors: Kimberlee K. Patent number: 4099810Abstract: Apparatus for storing documents includes a cylindrical housing and, in the housing, an upright carousel having a number of radially disposed pockets. The housing has a horizontally and radially extending opening on a vertical wall and a horizontal opening on an outer cylindrical wall, the openings being located on opposite sides of the axis of the housing. A drive is available for separately aligning the pockets with the openings. Each opening is associated with means for providing a fluid stream and fluid streams are generated for moving documents, through an associated opening, into or out of pockets. The carousel includes radially extending plates which define the pockets and said plates have radial projections which slidably engage the housing. The engagement is provided to prevent document jams when loaded pockets are moved through the lower part of the housing.Type: GrantFiled: May 21, 1976Date of Patent: July 11, 1978Assignee: Xerox CorporationInventor: Klaus K. Patent number: 4077520Abstract: A vertical storage rack for cards or the like comprises a casing means carried by the casing for forming a plurality of downwardly-extending pockets which overlap each other from front to back and have openings one above the other at the front of the rack and means for supporting the bottom edges of the cards in the pockets at levels which can be decided by the user either by adjusting the depths of the pockets or by inserting the cards against selected parts of the pocket. Preferably each pocket is formed of a sheet of flexible material the front edge of which is fixed and forms the bottom edge of the pocket opening and the rear edge of which is supported by adjusting means which can be operated to raise or lower the back of the pocket and thus adjust its depth. Vertical dividing members are movable between different positions along the pockets and divide the latter into individual pockets the width of which can be adjusted.Type: GrantFiled: November 26, 1975Date of Patent: March 7, 1978Inventor: Sydney Samuel Stevenson
