  • Patent number: 9338852
Abstract: A lighting device for use in creating light, e.g., for replacing a light bulb. The device is in a bulb shaped housing, having an element emitting light. That element can be a FIPEL element. The device has a signal generator, outputting a signal having a frequency. The element has a light emitting layer that receives the signal from the signal generator, and outputs light of a wavelength that is dependent on said frequency emitted by said signal generator. A sensor senses ambient light adjacent said housing, and adjusts said signal generator based on said ambient light that is sensed. This maintains a constant ambient light level and color temperature as observed by a user as the actual ambient light levels vary over time.
