Anatomical Patents (Class 33/511)
  • Patent number: 4989337
Abstract: A device for measuring a leg about the knee for the fitting of a knee brace. The device measuring the width of the knee about a lateral axis extending laterally across the knee abut the knee's condyles, the circumference of the upper leg and lower leg a predetermined distance from said lateral axis and the offset of the leg. Optionally, the contour of the front portion of the upper leg and rear portion of the lower leg at the predetermined distance is measured by the device.

  • Patent number: 4768953
Abstract: An instrument particularly adapted for use in dentistry but capable of a wide variety of other applications and including a divider-caliper type instrument typically having two members of equal length and substantially corresponding configuration pivotally secured to one another wherein opposite ends of each member is defined by different sized points. A scale format is formed on an exposed surface on at least one of the members and is based on the golden proportion of 1 to 0.618. Accordingly, a plurality of scale settings are disposed in predetermined spaced apart relation to one another based upon formulized calculations resulting in use of the caliper instrument in dental applications including direct oral procedures, dental laboratory techniques, cephalometric analyses as well as aiding in the establishment of arch form, tooth size and outline form as well as cusp-fossa proportions and the accurate and simple placement of developmental grooves.

  • Patent number: 4658808
Abstract: An arrangement for preparing an anatomically measured endoprosthesis with a stem to be anchored in the widening end of a hollow bone, in particular a hip joint stem prosthesis to be anchored in the femur, uses radiographs true to scale, a set of a limited number of prosthesis templates and a set of corresponding prosthesis preparation models. In order to obtain greater variability and facilities for individual adaptation, a set of partial templates for that part of the prosthesis stem is provided which is to be anchored in the outer bone section forming the greatest widening. To determine the dimensions of the adjoining prosthesis stem sections, a direction scale and indicator are provided, the partial template and the a direction scale and indicator being mutually connected or connectable in defined directions. A set, corresponding to the partial templates, of trial preparation sections which are connectable to trial prosthesis sections; and for the adjoining prosthesis sections, is provided.

  • Patent number: 4575805
Abstract: The surface characteristics of an organ that needs restoration, for example, a tooth which has been prepared for an inlay insertion, are read by means of a noncontact scan-head. The three-dimensional shape parameters of the implant required to restore the tooth in function and appearance are computed on the basis of the recorded contour data. These parameters are then used in a program sequence which controls a milling, cutting or erosive process in order to manufacture the restorative inlay while the patient waits.

  • Patent number: 4549358
Abstract: A fixed vertical stand (118) carries a frame (119) which can be displaced in a horizontal direction and in its slope with respect to the vertical, this frame (119) containing a plate (127) which slides in the vertical direction and is provided with a stop (135) having an upper reference face (136) intended for encountering the bone of the ischiopubic protuberance of a half-carcase, this plate (127) carrying diverse feelers which are emitters of position and displacement signals for the measurement of the various classification characteristics which are supplied to a calculator.
