Predetermined Stop Or Signal Means Patents (Class 33/750)
  • Patent number: 7222436
Abstract: A process for registering lines of termination with indicia in a transported sheet of web material is disclosed. The process provides for the steps of: (a) transporting the sheet of web material in a first direction; (b) applying indicia to the sheet from a print cylinder, the print cylinder having a first angular position; (c) imparting lines of termination to the sheet of web material with a rotatable blade, the rotatable blade having a second angular position; (d) calculating a position error by comparing the first angular position of the print cylinder and the second angular position of the rotatable blade; and, (e) adjusting the second angular position of the rotatable blade according to the position error.

  • Patent number: 5526975
Abstract: A method and apparatus are available for detecting the remaining amount of bonding wire on a wire spool of a wire bonder using a cam and detector switch so as to detect the number of revolutions of the wire spool which feeds out the bonding wire. A device for judging whether or not the number of revolutions detected by the detector switch has reached a preset number is linked to the detector switch. When the detected number of revolutions of the wire spool reaches the preset number, the rotation of the motor is stopped so as to stop the feed out of the wire.

  • Patent number: 5440820
Abstract: An improved electrical measuring tape that automatically extends and retracts the tap. Switches control a battery powered motor that drives a wheel around which the tape is wound. Induction dots near both ends of the tape cause a short-circuit to stop extension or retraction.

  • Patent number: 5309647
Abstract: An apparatus for measuring the length of fiber optic cable being deployed om a winch to an underwater environment. The cable deployment measuring apparatus of the present invention comprises a constant current generator for generating a direct current, a resistor array having a plurality of series connected resistors and a plurality of trip wires with one of the trip wires being connected across each of the resistors. The trip wires which function as short circuits are also attached to the cable at predetermined locations along the length of the cable. When the fiber optic cable is being deployed, each trip wire will break when the location at which the trip wire is positioned is unwound from the winch for deployment in the underwater environment. This, in turn, will cause flow through the resistor array with a resulting voltage drop across the array.

  • Patent number: 5107595
Abstract: A marking system is disclosed that enables a user to lay out a foundation/perimeter for a structure without requiring the use of measuring instruments and/or complex procedures. The system includes six wire-like premeasured members that are releasably attached to specially designed corner members. The system is laid out with four of the wire-like members enclosing a square or rectangular area with their ends attached to the corner members. The remaining two wire-like members diagonally cross the enclosed area and each is attached at its ends to opposite corner members. When the diagonals intersect at their midpoints, the user is assured that the corners form right angles. Each of the diagonally placed members preferably includes a marking band at its midpoint to facilitate the locating of the midpoints by a user.
