  • Patent number: 7157995
Abstract: An electromagnetic relay has an iron core having a protruding shaft and a magnetic pole portion. The protruding shaft is penetrated through a through hole provided on a metal case, and coil is wound around the protruding shaft. A voltage is applied to the coil for magnetization and stopped for demagnetization, hence to drive a contact mechanism with a movable iron piece that is attracted by and separated from the magnetic pole portion, thereby causing a reciprocating motion of the movable iron piece. The relay can prevent generation of eddy current.

  • Patent number: 7157996
Abstract: In the electromagnetic switching device, it is possible to miniaturize and have low costs, have quiet operation noise, and also quickly extinguish the arc. The electromagnetic switching device has an electromagnetic actuator with a movable iron core, a pair of fixed terminals that respectively have a fixed contact point, a movable contact that has movable contact points on the right and left ends, a shaft, and an enclosing component that holds the movable contact points and the fixed contact points. The pair of movable contact points respectively contact with and detach from the pair of fixed contact points, and the pair of fixed contact points respectively conduct each other and are insulated again through the shaft by moving the movable iron core along the axis using the electric magnetic actuator. A quasi-hermetically sealed space, which is the extinguishing space, is formed by the enclosing component and a first yoke.

Abstract: A magnetic switch including a plunger is disposed on a rear end side of an armature via an end frame so that a moving direction of the plunger is perpendicular to an axial direction of the armature, and is fixed to the end frame by a fixing member. The fixing member is composed of a semi-circular portion having a shape corresponding to an outer circumference of the magnetic switch and arm portions extending from the semi-circular portion. Further, each of the arm portions has a deflection portion at an end thereof on a semi-circular portion side, and a claw portions at the opposite end (front end) thereof that is bent inward to be engaged with the end frame. When fixing the magnetic switch to the end frame, the deflection portion is deformed to have elasticity, and the claw portion is engaged with the end frame. As a result, the fixing member can easily and securely fix the magnetic switch to the end frame.

Abstract: A switching device providing highly-reliable, frictionless, adjustment-free operation is described. Comprised of a comparatively small number of moving parts, the various aspects of the invention offer compact, cost-effective, reliable alternatives to their complex electromagnetic and costly solid-state counterparts. The main parts of the invention rely upon the principles of magnetic attraction and repulsion for the switching of a plurality of electrical contacts contained within the switching device. The flexibility inherent in the design of the invention permits the switching device to be configured in a variety of aspects, including the failsafe and latching designs described herein.
