The antenna receives a first signal from an RFID tag. The conversion unit converts the first signal to a first serial number. The lookup table records a plurality of specific serial numbers and a plurality of storage locations of a plurality of application programs, each of the specific serial numbers corresponds to the storage location of one of the application programs. The identification unit determines whether the first serial number is one of the specific numbers. The processing unit enables the RFID reader to provide a first function if the first serial number is one of the specific serial numbers. If not, the processing unit enables the RFID reader to provide a second function different from the first function.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 23, 2013Publication date: February 12, 2015Applicant: Wistron NeWeb Corp.Inventor: Yi-Ting TING

Patent number: 8952792Abstract: A tuning circuit in an RFID tag may be used to match antenna and integrated circuit (IC) impedances to maximize the efficiency of IC power extraction from an incident RF wave. The tuning circuit, which requires less power to operate than the IC, adjusts a variable impedance to improve the impedance matching between the IC and the tag antenna and thereby increase the IC power extraction efficiency. The IC may begin operating according to a protocol when it extracts sufficient power from the RF wave or when an optimal impedance matching and power transfer is achieved.Type: GrantFiled: January 6, 2012Date of Patent: February 10, 2015Assignee: Impinj, Inc.Inventors: Shailendra Srinivas, Jay Kuhn, Ronald A. Patent number: 8947212Abstract: An active electronic tag and a signal modulation method are provided herein. The active electronic tag includes an antenna, a first amplifier, an automatic gain control circuit, a phase synchronization locking circuit, a control unit, a tag unit and a second amplifier. The antenna receives a detecting signal transmitted from a reader, in which the detecting signal is carried on a first carrier. The phase synchronization locking circuit generates a second carrier. The control unit generates a response signal, in which the response signal is carried on the second carrier. By utilizing a phase difference of the first carrier and the second carrier, the response signal cancels the first carrier on the reader so as to transmit the information stored in the active electronic tag.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 2012Date of Patent: February 3, 2015Assignees: Mosart Semiconductor Corp, Being Tech Electronics Corp.Inventor: Han-Yang Tseng
