  • Patent number: 9129452
Abstract: An access control system includes at least one door fitting to a secured area of a building and at least one identification code on a mobile data carrier. The identification code is read by a read device of a door fitting. If the read-in identification code is valid, access is granted to the area secured by the door fitting. An authorization code is transmitted from a processor via at least one communication connection to a central processor. A verification step is carried out to determine whether the transmitted authorization code corresponds to a valid authorization code for an area profile. Upon successful verification of the transmitted authorization code, write and read rights for the area profile are released to the processor transmitting the authorization code. The released area profile is changed by the processor via a communication connection.

  • Patent number: 9024720
Abstract: An access control method is disclosed in which a lock device provides conditional access to a protected environment by short-range wireless communication with a key device having a key device identifier (KD_ID). In the method, the lock device requests the key device to provide a challenge response to a challenge generated by the lock device based on a challenge code kept by the lock device. The lock device receives the challenge response from the key device. The challenge response is generated by a remote administration server and is based on the key device identifier of the key device. The generated response is sent to the key device and forwarded from the key device to the lock device. The lock device then verifies the received challenge response based on the challenge code and on the key device identifier of the key device.

  • Patent number: 8934633
Abstract: High-security communications against information leakage as well as high-speed communications are realized using present optical fiber networks. The methods are as follows: (1) A seed key is shared between a transmitter and a receiver in advance. Random numbers are transmitted using carrier light accompanied by fluctuations and bases that are decided by random numbers. The transmitter and receiver compare a shared basis that is determined by the seed key with the random basis, and decompose the random numbers superimposed on each bit into two sequences, based on whether the shared basis coincides with the random basis or not. Error correction is processed for each sequence in the receiver, and then the random numbers are shared between the transmitter and the receiver. (2) The amount of the random numbers shared between the transmitter and the receiver is reduced to secret capacity through privacy amplification, and the resultant random numbers are used as a secret key.

  • Patent number: 8742888
Abstract: Provided is a communication apparatus having a human body contact sensing function and method. The apparatus includes: an electrode that comes in contact with the human body; a contact sensor coupled to the electrode that instructs the CPU to perform an initial operation if contact with the human body is sensed; and a data processing unit that receives a control signal from the CPU to select whether to transmit or receive data, and performs a transmitting or receiving operation according to the control signal. To reduce power consumption in a stand-by state before body contact is made when using a human body as a communication medium, a human body contact sensor is included to minimize power consumption of a micro processing unit and a transmitter/receiver circuit until contact occurs. Minimizing power consumption when in a stand-by mode by using a contact sensor with low power consumption extends stand-by time.

Abstract: A method, apparatus and system for radio frequency identification provides a modulated illumination signal containing a sequence of bits configured to illuminate a radio frequency identification (RFID) tag, The illumination signal is received at the RFID tag, rectified to generate a wake signal for waking a processor which is subsequently powered by a battery. The received illumination signal is sampled and subjected to a thresholding process. Mobile telephone band interference is countered by correlating the sampled illumination signal to determine its bit sequence and then correlating the bit sequence against a predetermined key. An identification signal from the RFID tag is sent in response to a match.

A fluid station includes a plurality of antenna mounts at fixed locations so that a respective plurality of fluid-container locations is defined. An RFID reading unit connects to antennas on the mounts. A controller reads the respective RFID tags of the hose and of the containers in the fluid-container locations using the RFID reading unit. It then determines which of the plurality of movable fluid containers is positioned in the fluid-container location corresponding to the antenna range in which the fluid-supply hose is positioned, so that the fluid in the determined fluid container is identified as the fluid to be supplied through the fluid-supply hose.
