  • Patent number: 10701424
Abstract: Systems and methods of managing online streaming content are contemplated in this application. A new data structure is discussed. The new data structure is useful for the organization and delivery of streaming content—especially live content. Systems and methods make it possible for a broadcast manager to determine when advertisements can be played during a live broadcast (e.g., during a time out in a basketball game). Episode containers (the new data structure) include different segments, including both video-segments and advertisement-segments, where segments can be used to broadcast video from different sources. This can be particularly useful for broadcasting of content online where advertisement videos can be hosted elsewhere from where the broadcast content is hosted, allowing users to seamlessly watch a program with advertisements without experiencing interruption when they are transitioned to an advertisement from the broadcast.

  • Patent number: 7046120
Abstract: A system and method for providing user-selected information to a paging-capable device. An enhanced paging system responsive to information sources and a selection device transmits information to a paging-capable device. The enhanced paging system comprises a storing means, a selecting means, a storage device, and a transmitter. Such a system can provide user-selected information to a paging-capable device, allowing the user to control what information will be sent and when the information will be sent. Intelligent-agent software can automatically search for and store information that would be of interest to the user and can alert the user that more detailed information is available. It can also send critical information to the user without user request.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for implementing a heuristic user interface for a mobile device that assists a user with the management and utilization of contact identifiers (e.g. phone numbers, facsimile numbers, email addresses and uniform resource identifiers (URIs)). Content stored on or being processed by a mobile device is analyzed for the presence of predetermined classes of contact identifiers. When a contact identifier belonging to one of the predetermined classes is encountered, it is presented to the user of the mobile device on the display screen and the user interface of the mobile device is provisioned (e.g., softkey assignments and screen displays) for the particular class of contact identifier encountered. The encountered contact identifiers may be used as direct contact identifiers or indirect contact identifiers. Direct contact identifiers are used to initialize the appropriate application for the class of identifier encountered (e.g.
