  • Patent number: 10687046
Abstract: Various embodiments of the present invention relate generally to systems and methods for analyzing and manipulating images and video. In particular, a multi-view interactive digital media representation (MVIDMR) of object can be generated from live images of the object captured from a hand-held camera. Methods are described where image data associated with the images capture from the hand-held camera are manipulated to generate a more desirable MVIDMR of the object. In particular, the image data can be manipulated so that it appears as if the camera traveled a smoother trajectory during the capture of the images which can provide a smoother output of the MVIDMR. In embodiment, key point matching within the image data and, optionally, IMU data from a sensor package on the camera can be used to generate constraints used in a factor graph optimization that is used to generate a smoother trajectory of the camera.

Abstract: Systems and methods for providing remote approval of an image for printing are provided. One system includes a processing circuit in communication with an image capturing device that is configured to capture an image of a printed product. The processing circuit is configured to process the captured image into a processed image accurate to within a tolerance in a color space to indicate the visual appearance of one or more colors. The color space is a standardized color space, such as sRGB or CIELAB. The processing circuit is further configured to transmit the processed image to a display located remote from the image capturing device and to receive an input signal from a remote input device to allow a user to approve or reject the displayed processed image for printing on a print device.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a color conversion unit, a representative-hue-range acquiring unit, and a color correction unit. In a Voronoi diagram based on a grid point of the color conversion table with respect to one hue range of the two representative hue ranges obtained by the representative-hue-range acquiring unit, when a movement pixel corresponds most to a Voronoi region where the pixels inside the one hue range in the specific part corresponds most, the movement pixel being a pixel inside the other hue range of the two representative hue ranges in the specific part with only the hue of the pixel being moved to the one hue range, the color correction unit corrects color of the image inside the other hue range in the specific part such that the movement pixel does not correspond to the Voronoi region.

Abstract: An image processing includes: a unit that calculates a feature amount of main image data; a unit that calculates a feature amount of sub image data or resized sub image data; an adjustment unit that performs image quality adjustment on the resized sub image data so that a difference between a feature amount of the adjusted sub image data and the feature amount of the main image data is smaller than a difference between the calculated feature amount of the sub image data and the feature amount of the main image data; and a unit that generates display image data from the main image data and adjusted sub image data according to display mode information. The sub image data include plural content items. The adjustment unit updates the feature amount of the main image data used in the adjustment, at the timing of change of the content item.

  • Patent number: 9832349
Abstract: The invention causes a gloss observed in a reproduction to approach a gloss of a target even if a range in which it is possible to change the gloss in the reproduction is small. An input unit inputs color and gloss data including at least a color signal and a gloss signal of the target to reproduce. A mapping unit maps the color and gloss data into a gloss representable range based on information indicating a gloss representable range of the gloss representation device. A signal generation unit generates, based on the color and gloss data after the mapping, an output signal outputted to the gloss representation device. The mapping unit performs a mapping that saves information indicating a local gloss difference in accordance with a spatial distribution of the gloss signal as the mapping of the gloss signal.

Abstract: A handheld information processing device such a mobile telephone or portable computer has a normal operating mode in which it executes information processing operations in response to user activation of user controls from the user control interface. Furthermore, the device has a remote control signal transmitter coupled to its processing circuit. The processing circuit is configured to switch automatically to a remote control mode when no user activation of the user controls has been detected for a predetermined time duration. In an embodiment handheld information processing device switches to the remote control mode only if it is within a predetermined range of spatial locations after the time duration. In the remote control mode the processing circuit responds user activation of the user controls substantially only by causing the remote control signal transmitter to transmit conventional remote control command signals to equipment like TVs, recorders etc.

  • Patent number: 9798743
Abstract: The disclosure is related to a décor harmony service (DHS) that facilitates mapping of colors from a color palette to decor accessories in a setting, e.g., a room, such that the décor accessories, when arranged together, appear harmonious to a user. For example, using harmony-distribution rules, the DHS maps a set of décor accessories occupying “60%” of the area of a room to a main color of a color palette, a second set of décor accessories occupying “30%” to a feature color and a third set of décor accessories occupying “10%” to an accent color. The DHS generates a representation of the room, e.g., an image of the room, with the décor accessories having the assigned colors. The DHS facilitates a user to use the generated image for finding and purchasing décor products that match with a décor accessory in the generated image.

An interactive screen can be presented on a touchscreen of a display device, wherein a visual musician can interact with one or more components and/or features comprising the screen to control presentation of the digital objects. A portion of the screen can be configured to initially present a continuous hue spectrum, which can subsequently be replaced with a discrete hue spectrum. Further, a spectrum comprising naturally visible hues can be modified such that a plurality of hues in the spectrum are positioned equally across the spectrum, and further, brightness of respective hues can be modified to enable presentment of a visually appealing visual music presentation.

Abstract: Embodiments are provided for compressing a color index map in video coding applications including screen content images. An embodiment method includes obtaining, at a video codec device, an image block, and generating a color index map comprising a plurality of entries and representing the image block. Each one of the entries is assigned a color index indicating a respective color. The method further includes assigning, in a correct prediction map, a first bit-value for each one of the entries that is predictable by a neighboring entry in the color index map, and a second bit-value for each one of the entries that is unpredictable by any neighboring entry in the color index map. Further, an actual value from the color index map for the each one of the entries that is unpredictable by any neighboring entry is added in a sequence of non-predictable color indices.
