  • Patent number: 8648965
Abstract: An image signal processor and a method for processing an image signal thereof are disclosed. When the image signal processor executes an automatic chroma gain control (ACC), the image signal processor adjusts a variable rate of ACC gain according to a size of an input color signal to reduce a time for processing the ACC. Even if a difference between the size of the input color signal and the size of a reference color signal is large, the ACC is rapidly processed. As a result, transient phenomenon disappears from a screen.

  • Patent number: 6518961
Abstract: An adapter device, which is connected between a host for outputting a sync-on-green (SOG) signal and a conventional display monitor, separates a sync signal from the SOG signal, and supplies red, blue, and SOG signals to a color display monitor together with the separated sync signal. The adapter device is composed of an adapter housing upon which three BNC connectors are mounted, and a D sub-connector which is connected to the housing through an adapter cable. A sync signal separating circuit is embedded in the housing, and a power of the circuit is supplied from the color display monitor through D sub-connector. Since the color display monitor need not have a special sync signal separating circuit for supporting an SOG signal mode, power consumption and manufacturing price can be reduced. And, a conventional color display monitor can be used in a color display apparatus of the SOG signal mode.

  • Patent number: 6292231
Abstract: A reference signal having either twice or four times the frequency of a color burst signal (2fsc or 4fsc) is divided into a plurality of divided signals, each having the same frequency as that of the color burst signal, or an fsc frequency. In addition, a reference signal is delayed by a predetermined amount to thereby generate a delay signal. One of the divided signals is output in synchronism with this delay signal as a first divided signal having a predetermined delay. When this first divided signal is used as a color burst signal, the remaining divided signals resultantly all have phases shifted by a predetermined amount with respect to the color burst signal. With this arrangement, some of the divided signals can be used intact as a color signal, while the others may also be used after being delayed by a predetermined amount.

  • Patent number: 6271879
Abstract: An apparatus and method for controlling and detecting the alignment of a color frame phase from a composite analog video signal decodes the composite analog video signal to produce a component digital video signal and to generate a color frame signal that represents the start of each color frame for the composite analog video signal. Based upon the color frame signal a flag signal is inserted into the component digital video signal. The component digital video signal is captured by an analyzer based upon the flag signal so that the captured component digital video signal is in color frame phase with a stored reference component digital video signal. Preferably the stored reference component digital video signal represents a test sequence having an integer number of color frames plus or minus one video frame.

  • Patent number: 6043845
Abstract: A system and method is disclosed for compressing and decompressing composite video signals. In one type of operation a composite video signal (e.g., an NTSC signal) is sampled and the samples compressed into 3 or 5 bit composite values, depending on the system mode (PREVIEW or HIGHRES). For the HIGHRES mode the compressed composite values are written into a RAM for at least the four fields associated with the most recent two frames. As needed, the compressed values are transferred to a decoding engine implemented in software. The decoding engine, without any need for phase locked loop circuitry, decompresses the data, and decodes the decompressed digital composite values into YUV and/or RGB values. When the system is in the 5-bit mode, the decoding engine scans and compares all four fields to detect the existence of motion in the image, which could blur the captured image. In regions with motion only a single field of data is used as the source of the image data for those regions.

  • Patent number: 5351093
Abstract: Signal processing apparatus comprises a chrominance subsampler (10) for sampling the U and V components of a PAL video signal in response to an enable signal. A counter (30) responsive to the horizontal synchronization component of the PAL video signal generates the enable signal upon detection of a predetermined number of horizontal synchronization pulses. Logic (60,70,80) responsive to the vertical synchronization component of the PAL video signal resets and disables the counter (30) upon detection of a vertical synchronization pulse. Logic (50,60,70,80) restarts the counter (30) from a reset state upon detection of a predetermined polarity in the V component of the PAL video signal.
