  • Patent number: 11783508
Abstract: A system comprises an encoder configured to compress and encode data for a three-dimensional mesh using a video encoding technique. To compress the three-dimensional mesh, the encoder determines sub-meshes and for each sub-mesh: texture patches and geometry patches. Also the encoder determines patch connectivity information and patch texture coordinates for the texture patches and geometry patches. The texture patches and geometry patches are packed into video image frames and encoded using a video codec. Additionally, the encoder determines boundary stitching information for the sub-meshes. A decoder receives a bit stream as generated by the encoder and reconstructs the three-dimensional mesh.

Abstract: A method for automatic segmentation of dermoscopy skin lesion images includes automating a Geodesic Active Contour (GAC) initialization to be sufficiently large to encompass the lesion yet lie near the actual lesion contour. In addition, a new image plane is found by transforming the original RGB image to a smoothed image that allows the GAC to move without sticking on the minimum local energy. This method can eliminate the need for separate hair or noise removal algorithms. The method may include extraction of designated color planes to improve the initial contour and to automatically correct false segmentations. The method includes an algorithm to correct false protuberances and/or false inlets that may be present in the GAC border. A method is given to increase likelihood of including more actual lesion area. The method yields multiple border choices which may be presented to a classifier for optimal border selection.

An input image portion corresponding to an overlap region of imaging ranges of the cameras forms a lattice pattern in the output image. Abstract: Interpolation logic described herein provides a good approximation to a bicubic interpolation, which is generally smoother than bilinear interpolation, without performing all the calculations normally needed for a bicubic interpolation. This allows an approximation of smooth bicubic interpolation to be performed on devices (e.g. mobile devices) which have limited processing resources. At each of a set of predetermined interpolation positions within an array of data points, a set of predetermined weights represent a bicubic interpolation which can be applied to the data points. For a plurality of the predetermined interpolation positions which surround the sampling position, the corresponding sets of predetermined weights and the data points are used to determine a plurality of surrounding interpolated values which represent results of performing the bicubic interpolation at the surrounding predetermined interpolation positions.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to adaptively determining and improving the quality of a region of interest in video content. A region inspection component inspects regions of an image. A detection component determines chroma values contained in the regions. A comparison component compares the chroma values against a set of predetermined chroma values, and determines, based on the comparison, a set of regions of interest in the frame. An encoder encodes the regions of interest in the image at a higher or better quality than a remainder of the image.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method and a device for multi-camera image correction. The method for multi-camera image correction includes: acquiring information of independent images that are captured by each camera and have no overlap area or have an overlap area smaller than a threshold; acquiring, according to information of each independent image, an image correction parameter that corresponds to each camera and allows adjacent independent images to be corrected into a contiguous image; and performing, according to the image correction parameter, correction processing on video data of a camera that corresponds to the image correction parameter. In the embodiments of the present invention, maintenance manpower is saved, adjustment efficiency is improved, and remote maintenance may be performed in the case of no overlap area or of a small overlap area. In addition, images are corrected in a data processing manner, which efficiently ensures precision of image correction.

Abstract: Imaging systems may be provided with image sensors for capturing images. An image sensor may include storage and processing circuitry having a conformal image buffer to be used in performing various types of image transformations on captured input images. The storage and processing circuitry may perform the image transformations, in part, by storing a portion of a captured input image in the conformal image buffer. A conformal image buffer may include a buffer for storing input image pixel values specific to various types of image transformations and memory for storing a pixel buffer lookup table. The pixel buffer lookup table may be used by the storage and processing circuitry to determine which input image pixel values should be stored in the conformal image buffer for each type of image transformation and to provide random read access to the stored input image pixel values in the conformal image buffer.

Abstract: Embodiments describe methods, apparatus and systems to provide video display correction to provide an on-axis view at an off-axis angle so that the display surface displays a rectangular video image. For instance, a device may receive a stream of video data to be displayed on a display surface of a display, the video data having a first rectangular aspect ratio to be viewed from an on-axis location with respect to the display surface. The device may also receive a user selection of an off-axis viewing angle with respect to the display surface. The device may then correct the first rectangular aspect ratio to a second, non-rectangular aspect ratio based on the off-axis viewing angle, so that from the off-axis angle, the display surface appears to display a rectangular video image.
