  • Patent number: 7773804
Abstract: An apparatus for adjusting specific color attributes is provided. Wherein, the color space transforming unit receives a color input signal with R, G and B color attributes, and transforms it into a color middle signal with separated luminance (Y) and chrominance color attributes (Cb and Cr). The color controlling unit computes the hue of the color input signal to generate a hue signal and generates a hue signal, a saturation signal and an intensity fine-tune signal according to the hue signal, and computes the color input signal to generate an adjustment parameter and generates an adjusted saturation signal and an adjusted intensity fine-tune signal from the saturation signal and the intensity fine-tune signal according to the adjustment parameter. The color adjusting unit adjusts the color middle signal to output a color output signal according to the hue signal, the adjusted saturation signal and the adjusted intensity fine-tune signal.

  • Patent number: 7773259
Abstract: The invention provides a hue adjusting device. When one color axis including different hues is being adjusted by the user, the hue adjusting device will rotate each of the different hue angles in different rotation angles. Accordingly, the color of an image adjusted by the invention will be smoother than the prior art. Namely, the image quality can be improved.

  • Patent number: 7714938
Abstract: A method for enhancing a video image by processing a video signal includes inputting a video signal and boosting color saturation or lightness of the video signal as a its hue gets closer to a secondary color, and/or shifting the hue of the video signal toward one or more secondary colors. This produces an enhancement of secondary color representation, for example by boosting cyan and yellow colors while not boosting primary colors.

Abstract: In some embodiments, color and contrast enhancement video processing may be done in one shot instead of adjusting one of color and contrast enhancement, then the other, and then going back to the first one to readjust because of the second adjustment. In some embodiments, global lightness adjustment, local contrast enhancement, and saturation enhancement may be done at the same time and in parallel. Lightness adjustment improves visibility of details for generally dark or generally light images without changing intended lighting conditions in the original shot, and is used to enhance the range of color/saturation enhancement. Local contrast enhancement done in parallel improves visual definition of objects and textures and thus local contrast and perceived sharpness.

Abstract: A television set carries out communications with a remote control. When the television set displays a picture based on a picture signal subjected to quality adjustment, a signal level of a quality adjustment parameter is obtained, and the data indicating the obtained signal level is transmitted to the remote control. The remote control displays the received data. The user checks the displayed data, and enters data for changing the signal level so that the remote control transmits the entered data to the television set. The television set receives the changed level data, and adjusts the quality relating to the picture signal based on the received level data. The television set displays the picture of the quality adjusted according to the signal level changed by the user.

  • Patent number: 7639263
Abstract: The values of each possible component output R, G, and B may be pre-computed for all values of each possible component input Y, U, and V. Each contribution of Y, U, and V input may then be loaded into a register and added in parallel, without overflow, resulting in a computationally inexpensive RGB output from a YUV input. In one embodiment, contributions of Y, U, and V to each of R, G, and B are retrieved from pre-computed tables. The YUV contributions for each value of R, G, and B are packed into three data elements and added together in parallel, resulting in a value for an RGB output.
