Abstract: A television broadcast receiving apparatus can change an oscillation frequency of a local oscillation signal or a tuning frequency of an intermediate frequency signal in a reception channel, and changes the reception characteristic to an optimum reception characteristic. In this way, the television broadcast receiving apparatus effectively reduces SN ratio deterioration due to interference of the outside of a reception band such as adjacent channel interference.
Abstract: A system and method for monitoring set-top box memory is presented. In one exemplary embodiment, the system and method for monitoring set-top box memory may comprise receiving memory data of a set-top box at a central computing device, monitoring the memory data of the set-top box, analyzing the memory data, identifying a memory management issue, and performing one or more remedial actions in response to the identified memory management issue.

Abstract: A system and method for interacting with a digital device by acquiring an image of a display of the device, deriving the functional state and context of the device by analyzing the acquired image and commanding the device to perform an action. the procedure described above may be repeated by a script or test procedure.
Abstract: Systems, methods and devices are disclosed that provided for providing remote video feedback. The disclosure herein includes a transmitting computing device that is configured to produce an image frame encoded with metadata and to transmit the encoded image frame over a network to a remote display device. The remote display device includes a viewing screen contained in a chassis with bevel. The viewing screen includes an information validation pixel with the chassis extending over and covering the image validation pixel. The chassis also includes a photo sensor positioned on the under side of the bezel so as to be in operational view of the image validation pixel. The system also includes a sensor electronics module that is configured to detect the metadata when the metadata is displayed by the information content pixel and is received by the photo sensor. The sensor electronics module also generates image frame feedback information based upon the detecting.
Abstract: Provided is an image quality evaluation system for evaluating quality of an image. The image quality evaluation system includes bit extraction means and image quality evaluation means. For predetermined data expressing an image frame of a first image, the bit extraction means extracts a predetermined number of bits which is smaller than the number of bits required for expressing one data piece. By using a value expressed by the bit string extracted by the bit extraction means and a value of data equivalent to the data to be extracted from the bit string in a second image, the image quality evaluation means estimates a difference between the first image and the second image and evaluates the image quality of the first to image or the second image.
Abstract: Receivers using multiple tuners may introduce crosstalk between signals provided to the tuners. The disclosed embodiments relate to a method and apparatus for detecting and preventing crosstalk. A method is described that includes providing a signal to a first signal processing path, tuning to a channel in the signal provided through the first signal processing path, tuning to the channel in the signal through a second signal processing path, and determining that crosstalk exists if the channel is present on the second signal processing path. An apparatus is also described containing means for providing a signal to a first signal processing path, tuning to a channel in the signal provided through the first signal processing path, tuning to the channel in the signal through a second signal processing path, and determining that crosstalk exists if the channel is present on the second signal processing path.
Abstract: To provide a video display device capable of transmitting attribute information more securely to a video output device capable of bidirectional communication. In a case in which there has been a request from the video output device for EDID attribute information, monitoring is performed to determine whether or not transmission of the EDID is completed properly (S8, S9). In a case in which EDID transmission is not completed properly, a reset process is performed in which a connect detection line is returned to a connected state after it is temporarily put into a disconnected state (S13).
Abstract: A high frequency receiver cancels a plurality of noise signals which are contained in a high frequency signal and outputted from a plurality of noise signal sources. The high frequency receiver cancels the noise signals using a plurality of pick-up noise signals extracted from a plurality of pick-up antennas disposed near the noise signal sources. At least one of the pick-up noise signals is selected in descending order of their effects on the degradation of reception quality, thereby completing noise cancelling in a short time.
Abstract: A receiver includes: a band detection unit that detects a frequency band within which the receiver can be connected to a transmitter by radio; a quality detection unit that detects the transmission quality level of video data, which is transmitted from the transmitter, using the frequency band detected by the band detection unit; and a notification unit that notifies an area in which the frequency band within which the receiver can be connected to the transmitter by radio is detected and the transmission quality level is detected to be higher than a predetermined threshold.
Abstract: A digital television signal-receiving device with signal strength showing function is disclosed. The digital television signal-receiving device includes a tuner, a microprocessor control unit, and a signal strength indicator. The signal of digital television is tuned with the tuner. The microprocessor control unit could read a signal decibel value of the signal of digital television and provide a strength signal corresponding to the signal decibel value. The signal strength indicator driven with the microprocessor control unit could receive the strength signal and show an indication of the signal strength.

Abstract: A terminal sharing arrangement allows output terminals of an apparatus such as a television signal receiver or other device to be used for both outputting signals such as audio signals, and providing a diagnostic function. According to an exemplary embodiment, the apparatus includes a first terminal operative to output a first output signal during a first mode, and to receive a first diagnostic signal during a second mode. A second terminal is operative to output a second output signal during the first mode, and to output a second diagnostic signal during the second mode.
