Abstract: The present invention relates to an image processing device and a method of framing changes and movements in a video image divided into N×N blocks of pixel positions. The method comprises calculating a first bitmap of the video image by a DCT transform on each of the N×N blocks of pixel positions, assigning a first binary value to the pixel positions of the N×N blocks when more than an amount of change, and a second binary value to the pixel positions of the N×N blocks when less than an amount of change. Calculating a third bitmap by an OR operation between a number of bitmaps representing past time frames of the video image, calculating a fourth bitmap by performing a dilation process of the third bitmap representing the current time frame of the video image, and creating one or more frames identifying area of changes and movements in the video image based on detecting BLOBs (Binary Large Objects) in the fourth bitmaps.

  • Patent number: 11422564
Abstract: An image of a space in which a mobile robot travels may be captured, and, in the case in which personal information is included in the captured image, the image including the personal information may be covered with a specific color such that the personal information is not visible, and the image may be replaced with an image including no personal information. As a result, it is possible to prevent the personal information from being exposed. In order to determine whether personal information is included in an image and to replace the image including the personal information with an image including no personal information, an object detection neural network and a frame prediction neural network may be used. In addition, input and output of an image may be performed in an Internet of Things (IoT) environment using a 5G network.

  • Patent number: 11425313
Abstract: Disclosed here are various techniques to increase dynamic range of an image recorded from a display. A processor performing preprocessing splits an input image containing both bright and dark regions into two images, image A containing bright regions, and image B containing dark regions. The display presents image A and image B in alternating fashion. Camera is synchronized with the display to record image A and image B independently. In postprocessing, a processor obtains the recorded images A and B. The processor increases the pixel value of the recorded image A to obtain image A with increased pixel value. Finally, the processor increases pixel value of the image recorded from the display by combining the first recorded image with increased pixel value and the second recorded image.

  • Patent number: 11396257
Abstract: A vehicular forward viewing image capture system includes an accessory module configured for attachment at an in-cabin side of a windshield of a vehicle, whereby a CMOS image sensor views through the windshield forward of the equipped vehicle. With the accessory module attached at the in-cabin side of the windshield, and while the vehicle is traveling along a road, captured image data is processed to determine (i) presence of an object of interest viewed by the image sensor and (ii) location and/or movement of the object of interest viewed by the image sensor. Multiple frames of captured image data are processed in determining location and/or movement of the object of interest. Image data captured by the image sensor is processed for an automatic headlamp control system of the equipped vehicle. The vehicular forward viewing image capture system automatically compensates for misalignment of the image sensor.
