  • Patent number: 7626678
Abstract: A repairing method of a liquid crystal display panel having a gravity defect includes steps of providing a first pressure to the liquid crystal display panel. Next, a second pressure is continuously provided to the liquid crystal display panel, and a section from the edge of the liquid crystal panel to the sealant is removed and forming an opening through the closed sealant frame. Then, forcing out the excess liquid crystal to flow out the panel through the cut off sections, cleaning out the excess material including LC mixture around the opening, and sealing the opening with a fresh end sealant. After that, providing a third pressure to the liquid crystal display panel, curing the end sealant to seal the opening, and then removing the third pressure. Finally, annealing the liquid crystal display panel to recover original display quality.

The sealing member is sandwiched between and fixedly binds the first and second transparent substrates in a structural alignment for image displaying operation of the LCD cell. The sealing member forms a perimeter encircling a display area of the LCD cell and having a discharge port at a location on the perimeter thereof. The perimeter encloses an optimized amount of liquid crystal obtained after the excessive liquid crystal trapped within the perimeter during the manufacture of the LCD cell is discharged out of the LCD cell through the discharge port. The perimeter sealedly encloses the optimized amount of liquid crystal therein after the discharge port is plugged for defect-free implementation of the image displaying operation.

Abstract: A repairing method of a liquid crystal display panel having a gravity defect includes steps of removing the sealant outside the liquid crystal injection hole and providing a first pressure to the liquid crystal display panel. Next, a second pressure is continuously provided to the liquid crystal display panel, and the sealant in the liquid crystal injection hole is removed. Then, a third pressure is continuously provided to the liquid crystal display panel for pressing the liquid crystal out through the injection hole, and the flowed liquid crystal is cleaned out. After that, the liquid crystal injection hole is sealed with a fresh sealant and a fourth pressure is continuously provided to the liquid crystal display panel. Finally, the fresh sealant is cured and the fourth pressure is removed.

Abstract: Exemplary embodiments of the invention provide a new structure to reduce alignment defects caused by a problem inherent in an alignment layer without changing the alignment layer itself. According to exemplary embodiments of the present invention, in a method for fabricating a liquid crystal device, the liquid crystal device has a pair of substrates, liquid crystal therebetween, and an alignment layer at least on the inner surface of the substrate. The alignment layer is in contact with the liquid crystal. The method includes forming an alignment layer including inorganic columnar structures tilted towards a predetermined direction on the substrate and filling a space between the pair of substrates with the liquid crystal. In filling, the liquid crystal is filled so as to flow on the alignment layer in a direction parallel to the predetermined direction.
