  • Patent number: 10859879
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a liquid crystal grating, a method for driving the liquid crystal grating, and a display device. In the embodiments of the present disclosure, by applying the second voltage and the third voltage that are mutually inverted with respect to the common electrode voltage, the situation in which a single phase voltage is applied to all grating electrodes corresponding to the power-on optical state can be avoided. Due to the capacitance of liquid crystal, the influence of the second voltage on the common electrode voltage and the influence of the third voltage on the common electrode voltage cancel each other out. Therefore, the fluctuation of the common electrode voltage caused by the capacitance of liquid crystal can be effectively reduced or eliminated, thereby avoiding the failure of the liquid crystal grating.

  • Patent number: 10616564
Abstract: A display device has a display panel (70) and a color filter layer (72) spaced from the display panel, comprising an array of color filter portions. In a privacy mode (narrow viewing angle mode), the display panel produces output regions of different light output color, which regions are aligned with corresponding color portions of the color filter layer. In a public mode (wide viewing angle mode) the display panel produces light containing all of the output colors to all of the output regions. By providing a color filter layer spaced from the display panel, color filtering is used to control the range of angles over which an image is output. The color filter layer is in essence moved away from the display panel. The spacing between the two and the width of the color filter portions determines the extent by which the light output is angularly limited.

The display panel includes a first substrate, a second substrate which is arranged oppositely to the first substrate, a frame sealant which is arranged between the first substrate and the second substrate, and a black matrix which is arranged on the second substrate. A projection of the black matrix on the first substrate does not overlap a projection of the frame sealant on the first substrate. This facilitates completely exposing the frame sealant to a curing UV light. This improves a curing efficiency of the frame sealant, increases the adhesiveness of the frame sealant, and avoids the problem of liquid crystal leakage due to breakage of the frame sealant.

Abstract: A 3D display device and a method of driving the same are disclosed in the present disclosure. An electroluminescence display panel instead of a conventional backlight module is adopted to be arranged behind the liquid crystal display panel. In the 3D display mode, light emitting areas and black areas alternately arranged in both the row direction and the column direction are formed in the electroluminescent display panel, so that an abnormal grating structure is formed. In the 3D display mode, the first sub-pixels corresponding to the same light emitting area are controlled to display different gray level information so that the left and right eyes of a person located at two viewpoints receive an image of different gray level information. Therefore, stereoscopic vision is created and a naked-eye 3D display at the sub-pixel level is achieved.
