Color Photography Previewer Patents (Class 358/527)
  • Patent number: 7697040
Abstract: Digital images are captured on a digital camera, automatically formatted, and uploaded to a server for review and collaborative modifications. An on-line web gallery is automatically generated by the server whereby low resolution versions of the images are transferred to the server and appear in the gallery within seconds from capturing the images. Among other things, a viewer located remotely from a photographer can observe new images in the gallery in real time as they are captured, place a request for post-production modifications to selected images and download a high resolution version of selected images.

Abstract: An information management apparatus which is capable of managing products owned by a user by making the products easily registered in a device on a network. A user ID is registered in correspondence with model information on an image-pickup device. The user ID is received from a user terminal. When it is determined that the uploading of the image is permitted, on the basis of the received user ID and the registered user ID, the image uploaded from the user terminal is stored. Model information on an image-pickup device used for photographing the image stored in the storing unit is acquired from attribute information of the image. When the model information corresponding to the acquired model information is not registered, the acquired model information is further registered in correspondence with the received user ID.

  • Patent number: 7679778
Abstract: Saturation to white and fading of subjects' faces are prevented when performing density correction on digital images. An average signal value, obtained from a photographic image, is compared against a predetermined reference value, to judge whether correction is to be administered to brighten or darken the photographic image. A corrected image constituted by corrected signal values, which are obtained by correcting the pixel signal values of the photographic image with a predetermined correction amount, is generated only in cases that it is judged that correction to brighten the photographic image is to be administered. At this time, if the brightness represented by signal values of pixels of the photographic image are greater than or equal to a predetermined brightness, the correction amount is gradually reduced as the signal values become brighter.

  • Patent number: 7428076
Abstract: Smart printing/copying techniques for controlling the printing/copying and editing of a document based on document-descriptive and control information embedded in the printed output. These “smart” printing/copying techniques and controls allow a document user to control printing/copying costs by making tradeoffs with respect to quality and speed based on the embedded data. Such costs may be controlled, for example, by initially printing low cost (low quality, high speed) pages for distribution, while giving subsequent recipients of the document the option of making high quality (higher cost, possibly slower) copies of any or all of the pages in the document, if desired. With these features, a user is able to obtain high quality copies from low quality originals. The techniques of the present invention also allow a recipient to edit page content prior to reprinting, without loss of print output quality.

Abstract: A printer and a printing method are capable of greatly improving printing efficiency. In a printer and a printing method for printing a first image based on supplied first print data on a printing medium, when a predetermined operation mode is selected, second print data for a frame image formed by arranging second images of several kinds obtained by applying image processing different from each other to the first image, in a predetermined arrangement pattern and then, the frame image based on the second print data is printed on the printing medium. Therefore, it is possible to greatly shorten the time for obtaining a printing medium in which the image processing is performed in a desired sate and to previously avoid the printing medium from being wasted. Thus, it is possible to realize the printer and the printing method capable of greatly improving the printing efficiency.

  • Patent number: 7345788
Abstract: When an output unit to produce output is specified through an instruction terminal 11 and original data is input to a color proof generation section 12, a color conversion section 13 acquires a color conversion parameter corresponding to the specified output unit from a color conversion information storage section 14 and performs color conversion processing for the original data so as to accomplish precise color reproduction in the specified output unit. A rasterizing section 15 expands the original data after undergoing the color conversion processing into raster data while using an enormous number of fonts in a font storage section 16. The raster data provided by the rasterizing section 15 is transmitted from a communication section 17 through a network 4 to the specified output unit. If a remote system 2 or 3, which receives the raster data, prints out on output unit 21 or 31, a color proof whose color is reproduced precisely can be provided.

Abstract: A system is provided that allows a photographer to take images for a customer and provide those images to order servicing equipment with which the images are placed on-line for the customer to view. The customer may place orders for the images and products and services related to the images. The order servicing equipment may credit the photographer when the customer orders images, products, or services. Images may be manipulated before images, products, or services are ordered. Images may be taken using film-based cameras or digital image acquisition equipment. Image presentation options may be selected. Content may be appended to the images. Web sites and digital albums may be created using the images. The photographer may check the status of assignments that have been submitted to the order servicing equipment and may check on account status. Different rights levels may be established for different parties. Loyalty rewards may be awarded for frequent use of the system.

  • Patent number: 7333239
Abstract: The present invention provides a technique that ensures control of a distinction among a plurality of printers affecting a resulting print in printing with a plurality of printers. A distributed printing system, in which a distributed print server 100 and a plurality of printers are connected, is constructed. The distributed server 100 pre-stores a standard look-up table that is preset, based on the type of printing media and a print mode, and correction data pre-stored in respective printers. Upon receiving a print job from any one of clients CL1˜CL3, the distributed print server 100 specifies an output printer to output the print job, based on operation condition. The distributed print server 100 generates a color conversion table using the standard look-up table and the correction data corresponding to the output printer, and transmits the color conversion data to the output printer as well as the print job.
