Abstract: Two electrodes are drawn out from a wound capacitor element by a pair of leads. Each of electrodes forming the capacitor element includes a sheet-like collector, an electrode layer formed on the surface of the collector, and an exposed part provided on one edge of the collector. The electrode layer is not formed on the exposed part. The electrodes are wound such that the exposed parts come to both ends of the capacitor element. Two or more points of at least one of the exposed parts are connected together.
Abstract: An anode assembly for a capacitor is described. The anode assembly comprises a first anode including a first conductive lead disposed in a first groove in a junction bar, a second anode including a second conductive lead disposed in a second groove in the junction bar, and an anode terminal lead disposed in a third groove in the junction bar. The capacitor including the anode assembly is further comprised of a cathode comprising a conductive substrate supporting a cathode active material facing the first and second anodes, and a separator positioned there between to prevent the first and second anodes and the cathode from contacting each other. The anode assembly, the cathode, and the separator are sealed inside of a casing, and the casing is filled with a working electrolyte.

Abstract: An electrode sheet of an electric double layer capacitor is produced by using granules for formation of an electrode of an electric double layer capacitor which are obtained by kneading and then crushing materials including an activated material, a conductive filler, and a binder at 50 to 97 mass-%, 1 to 30 mass-%, and 2 to 20 mass-%, respectively, and which are essentially granules whose diameter is in a range of 47 to 840 ?m. A method for manufacturing a sheet-like electrode by mixing and kneading materials including an activated carbon, carbon black, and PTFE into a kneaded material, producing a forming material by converting the kneaded material into granules, and forming and rolling the forming material.

Abstract: An electric double-layer capacitor includes a plurality of electrode elements each having a current collector, a polarized electrode disposed on a surface thereof, and a strip-like current collecting lead extending from an end of the current collector. The electrode elements are stacked as alternately belonging to respective polarities, and the current collecting leads of the electrode elements are stacked into lead assemblies of the respective polarities. A separator is interposed between the stacked electrode elements, and the lead assemblies are connected respectively to electrode terminals. The lead assemblies of respective polarities serve as respective connectors connected to the electrode terminals. Each of the connectors has a flat joint region as at least a portion thereof. The current collecting leads of each of the lead assemblies are integrally joined to each other by the flat joint region by ultrasonic welding before the connector is connected to the electrode terminal.
Abstract: A film capacitor element produced from a metallized polyester film is described. In the metallized polyester film, the adhesion between a vapor-deposited metal layer and a polyester substrate is improved by providing a coating layer comprising a specific water soluble or water dispersible resin. The film capacitor produced by the use of the metallized polyester film has good moist heat resistance and long term stability in performance.
