Abstract: LED lamp structures and lighting fixtures are provided, particularly “down” or recessed lighting fixtures, street lamp fixtures, “work-lights” and automobile headlights. A fan and a heat sink are provided with each lamp and the LED array is attached directly to the heat sink. The fans used preferably are computer cooling fans which are particularly small, efficient and inexpensive. The fans preferably force air through the fins sideways. The fans in some embodiments are recessed among the fins of the heat-sink so as to conserve space and obtain direct flow of air through the fins. The low-volume exhaust from the fans is released directly into the air space or housing in which the lamps are mounted without the need for special ducting, thus taking advantages of the naturally-occurring crevices and opening for all or part of air escape openings.

Abstract: A portable light assembly (200) has a light head (26) adapted to be housed in a protective container (12) and to be withdrawn therefrom when required for use. The light head (26) is attached to a swivel bracket (28) and is connected to a battery (25) also housed in the container. The portable light assembly includes mounting means (18) for supporting the light head (26) at locations in need of illumination. A handle (14) is connected to a lid (20) of the assembly, and the handle has a release member (36) for releasing an extension post arrangement (30, 32) from the protective container. This allows the extension post arrangement (30, 32), Nd (20), swivel bracket (28) and light head (26) to be slid upwardly by activating the release member (36) and lifting the handle (14).

  • Patent number: 7997751
Abstract: A pressure-actuated light device (1) with a holding portion (2) that allows a user to hold the pressure-actuated light device in a user's hand. The pressure-actuated light device comprises a housing (3) which houses a light emitting diode (“LED”) (6) having a cathode (11) and an anode (10) extending from it. The cathode has one end permanently connected to the LED and a second end in constant contact with a negative terminal (8) of a battery (7). The anode has one end permanently connected to the LED and a second end separated from a positive terminal (9) of the battery by a spacer (12) which prevents the anode from making contact with the positive terminal while the device is not in use. When pressure is applied to a button (4) on the housing, the button presses the anode against the positive terminal thereby creating an electrical circuit which activates the LED. The holding portion may take alternative forms, including a fin (13), clip (14), ring (15) or elastomeric loop (16).

Abstract: The present invention is a portable lighting system comprised of a light head with visible white light and infrared light sources mounted on the center post of a quadpod. The quadpod has four adjustable, telescoping legs which are affixed to the center post using a collar mechanism. The collar mechanism allows the quadpod legs to be pivoted to a parallel position for storage. A power unit, which includes a battery, power supply and remote control receiver encased within a weather resistant housing, is located near the opposite end of the center post. A power cable connects the light head and the power unit. The portable lighting system is capable of being operating wirelessly using a handheld remote. The portable lighting system may be constructed from fiberglass, aluminum, a composite material or any other material or combination of materials.

Abstract: Flashing light module for a traffic safety cone has multiple stacked arrays of LED lights providing 360-degree visibility around the cone. The LED arrays are mounted onto a battery container, and a transparent or translucent housing covers the arrays and mounts onto the battery container to provide a water-tight seal for the enclosed electronics. The battery container fits into the upper opening in a truncated traffic safety cone. The LED light arrays have a variable flash rate. Optionally, an ambient light sensor is used to control the intensity of the light produced by the LED lights.

Abstract: In an adjustable light, a mounting base is formed with a pair of arcuate slots for receiving hooks protruding from a light module. For attachment of the light module to the base, the hooks enter open ends of the respective slots, and the light module is rotated to engage the hooks with the slots. A sheet of spring metal with two series of protrusions is sandwiched between a rear part of the base and a front part in which the slots are formed. The protrusions are exposed through the slots, and a space is provided behind the protrusions, allowing them to move resiliently when engaged by the hooks as the light module is rotated so that the light module can be retained in any selected one of a plurality of angular positions.

Abstract: A radiation shielded syringe includes primarily an outer shell, a power supply socket and an illuminating element. An interior of the outer shell defines a holding space to accommodate the syringe, a side of the outer shell defines a piece of glass (lead glass) through which medicine in the syringe can be clearly observed, and an inner wall of the outer shell defines a groove for putting the illuminating element. An end of the outer shell defines a seat which is assembled with the power supply socket and the power supply socket is electrically connected with the illuminating element. When observing a dosage of the medicine, the illuminating element is activated and the dosage is observed through the glass. Therefore, the radiation shielded syringe enables the dosage to be effectively, conveniently and clearly observed and is equipped with a radiation protection function at a same time.
