  • Patent number: 7674002
Abstract: Portable solar powered light sources, devices, apparatus, systems and methods of attaching and using the light source. The light sources can have a single small housing having an upper roof portion with an exposed solar cell, a photocell activator, and small housing. The housing can have two parts that pivot with one another so that a front end of the housing can be biased together by a spring, and the rear side having edges that are spaced apart. An operator can press the rear spaced apart edges together, to open the front end to slide about a support structure, such as an open umbrella fabric edge. The housing allows for the light source powered by batteries to be activated by the photocell during dark(night) conditions), with the light direction being adjustable underneath. During daylight, the solar cell receives sunlight to charge the batteries within the housing.

Abstract: A flashlight has a lamp assembly with a number of operating states including an off state and a number of different brightness level output states The flashlight has an elongated housing with opposed forward and rear ends. The housing has a body portion extending to the rear end, and a head portion rotatably attached to the body portion and extending to the forward end. The lamp operating state is based on the rotational position of the head portion with respect to the body. The body portion and head portion may be cylindrical elements of a common diameter. The head portion may include an electronic component having a rotatable input that is engaged by an element on the body portion. The flashlight may include a removable end portion opposite the head portion, with a support facility operable to support the housing, such that a user does not need to contact the housing.

Abstract: A modular flashlight assembly is provided that includes an integrated interface to facilitate mounting of the flashlight to a variety of different equipment. The flashlight mounting system includes a pattern of engagement surfaces on an exterior surface of the flashlight housing and a mounting bracket. The mounting bracket is configured to be mounted onto the desired substrate and includes clamping members that releasably engage the engagement surfaces on the flashlight housing. In this manner, the engagement surfaces on the flashlight housing provide a surface by which the flashlight can be clamped without the need for a band that extends entirely around the barrel of the flashlight. Further, by releasably clamping the flashlight into a modular system, the flashlight can easily mounted onto any variety of different modular interface systems such as the interface rail that is integrated onto modern type firearms.

Abstract: A light array for illuminating the circular opening in the platform of a bag toss game includes a circular frame and mating cover that define a hole, at least equal in area to the opening. A plurality of lights (LEDs) is positioned in the annular enclosure formed by the frame and cover. The cover includes a transparent wall through which light is projected to the opening in the platform. An annular printed circuit board is supported in the annular enclosure and mechanically supports and electrically connects the LEDs to a switched battery source. Different embodiments for blinking and sequencing the LEDs are shown. A laser diode arrangement for producing a cross hair pattern of beams in the platform hole is also described.

Abstract: The LED cap light has a housing with an arcuate top surface. LED's on the housing front surface are disposed at intervals along a laterally extending arc. A power switch is on the housing bottom. A battery is inside the housing. Electronic circuitry in the housing is responsive to the power switch to select at least one central LED for illumination while the remaining LEDs are powered off, and to select the remaining LEDs for illumination while the at least one central LED is powered off, and to power off all LEDS. The at least one central LED is designed to emit a substantially monochromatic primary color. Two steel spring clips are attached to the housing and extend above the top surface of the housing. Spring clip surfaces contact the housing top surface to provide a resilient frictional force for attachment to a hat visor.
