Abstract: A wavelength-converting device includes a first substrate, a second substrate and a first wavelength-converting material. The first substrate has a first region and a first engagement portion. The second substrate is disposed adjacent to the first substrate and having a second region and a second engagement portion. The second engagement portion and the first engagement portion have complementary shapes. The first wavelength-converting material is disposed on the second region for converting a light in a first waveband into a light in a second waveband. The light in the first waveband is transmitted through the first region, and the light in the second waveband is reflected by the second region. The first region and the second region are staggered, so that the first engagement portion and the second engagement portion are engaged and fixed with each other. As a result, the safety and stability are enhanced, and the noise is reduced.

  • Patent number: 9747763
Abstract: A networked visual and audible alarm apparatus and method of synchronized alerting provides audible and visual alerts upon detection of events, such as smoke, carbon monoxide and gas. The apparatus adapts to a light bulb socket to provide normal lighting when no event is detected. The apparatuses are systematically disposed through different sections of a structure. Each apparatus independently emits an audible signal, dependent on the type of event detected in the respective section for the apparatus. Further, each alarm apparatus provides a colored high strobe light that illuminates at a color and intensity that varies, dependent on the type of event detected in the section of the alarm apparatus. A microphone enables the alarm apparatus to initiate the audible signal and the high strobe light upon detecting an audible signal from an adjacent alarm apparatus. Also, voice commands can be used to power off the alarming apparatus.

Abstract: A programmable circuit includes an array of printed groups of microscopic transistors or diodes. The devices are pre-formed and printed as an ink and cured. The devices in each group are connected in parallel so that each group acts as a single device. In one embodiment, about 10 devices are contained in each group so the redundancy makes each group very reliable. Each group has at least one electrical lead that terminates in a patch area on the substrate. An interconnection conductor pattern interconnects at least some of the leads of the groups in the patch area to create logic circuits for a customized application of the generic circuit. The groups may also be interconnected to be logic gates, and the gate leads terminate in the patch area. The interconnection conductor pattern then interconnects the gates for form complex logic circuits.

  • Patent number: 9554437
Abstract: A system and method of creating a steady ON and a special effects light effect from a bulb without providing any special wiring thereto. In one embodiment, the bulb contains an illumination element and a controller which produces the special effect in the element. By interrupting the flow of current to the controller periodically, the controller is initialized to its initial steady ON condition. A plurality of steady ON pulses at a high frequency will appear as a steady ON light, instead of pules, thereby producing a steady ON appearance without special wiring. When the current is allowed to flow continuously, the controller produces the special effect. A second embodiment uses parallel polarized light element which produce different effect when power is applied in opposite polarities, thereby providing two effects with no special wiring.
