Abstract: A method and apparatus for optically examining an object in a contactless manner, in which light successively impinges upon the surface of an object being examined. The different sources of light strike the object surface at different angles of incidence and reflect off the surface and are then able to be measured by an image sensor which produces a plurality of image data sets having different contents. In this way, a first image data set is produced with the incident light from which form-independent or non-topographical characteristics, such as color errors, can be derived. Form-dependent or topographical characteristics, such as scratches, are derived from a second image data set formed with glancing light or oblique light. Before the form characteristics are derived from the first image data set, it is essential that the distorting influences of form-independent characteristics are eliminated from the first image data set via the second image data set.

  • Patent number: 7163310
Abstract: An under-cabinet lighting fixture includes xenon bulbs and/or halogen bulbs of less than about 35 watts contained within a housing that is devoid of any dedicated heat dissipation back vents on the back or top of the lighting unit. A top cover is connected to a wire-containing channel of the unit, with such cover being removable during wiring and mounting operations by removing screws locking the cover into place. The unit is further devoid of any dedicated reflectors and instead relies upon the reflective coating applied to the interior of the housing unit itself, which acts as a mirrored surface to reflect the bulb's illumination. A single glass lens is supported by a metal frame that runs around the periphery of such lens and the lens cover itself is connected to the housing by pivoting hinges and is snap locked into place by flexible metal/plastic elements that are configured to lock into apertures within the housing.

Abstract: A double-sided, direct-irradiation type backlight unit has a structure of capable of reducing the luminance irregularity and improve the luminance efficiency. The backlight unit has a scatter-reflection rod member 101 between each adjacent two of elongate lamps. The scatter-reflection rod member 101 has a symmetric shape with respect to the line passing the center thereof in X-direction, and that passing the center thereof in Y-direction. The light emitted from the elongate lamp 102 in X-direction is reflected by the scatter-reflection-rod member 101 and then travels in the direction toward the front- and rear-side diffusion plates 106.
