  • Patent number: 6871983
Abstract: A clean room ceiling light fixture formed as a sealed housing with a downwardly-directed light emitting aperture. A heat sink fixed within and spaced from the housing defines a cable raceway inside the housing. A plurality of LEDs are mounted on the heat sink. A high refractive index (polycarbonate) reflector coupled to each LED efficiently directs the LED's light through the aperture into the clean room. The LEDs and/or reflectors can be anti-reflectively coated to improve light transmission efficiency. A refractive index matching compound applied between each LED-reflector pair further improves light transmission efficiency. A spectrally selective filter material prevents ultraviolet illumination of clean rooms used for lithographic processes which are compromised by ultraviolet rays. A holographic diffusion lens and/or variable transmissivity filter can be provided to uniformly distribute the LEDs' light through the aperture.

Abstract: A front light module includes a light guide plate having opposite ends and a front surface and an opposite back surface connected to each other by the ends. The front surface forms sets of raised ridges, each raised ridge having opposite inclined faces. The front surface also forms a recessed trough between adjacent sets of ridges. Each trough has opposite inclined faces. A light source is mounted to each end of the light guide plate for projecting a light into the light guide plate. A reflector is arranged adjacent to and spaced from the back surface of the light guide plate for accommodating a display board between the reflector and the light guide plate. The light from the light source is incident onto the inclined faces of the troughs and reflected thereby toward the reflector. The troughs have different depths whereby the inclined faces thereof are of different surface areas for reflecting different amount of light in order to provide a uniform brightness over the whole module.

Abstract: A lift adjusting module is located in a surgical operation lamp and includes a plurality of latch elements to movably latch on petal sections of a brake piece. The brake piece runs through a rotary member and a rotary shaft. When a handle receives force, the rotary member drives the rotary shaft and moves a lamp seat axially to control the projection focus scope of the operation lamp. In the mean time, the latch elements are compressed and selectively embedded in the rotary member to effectively prevent the operation lamp from wearing and being damaged due to improper force. Thus surgical operation safety may be enhanced and the service life of the operation lamp can be increased.

Abstract: A joint (52) for connecting arm portions (40, 42) of a ceiling or wall mounted support system includes housing members (60,62) with an annular bearing (64) interposed between opposed surfaces (82,84) thereof. The housing members are clamped together on an axle (98) such that a braking force generated between the bearing and the housing member surfaces opposes rotation of one arm portion relative to the other. A variable braking force is generated between the bearing and surfaces (206) of the housing members which are generally perpendicular to the opposed surfaces (82,84). The variable braking force is generated by a spring (182) and is greatest when the arm supporting a piece of equipment (24, 26, 28, 56) is at its lowest point, relative to the horizontal. This overcomes the increased forces in the spring which otherwise tend to cause the arm portion (42) to drift upward.

Abstract: An illustration illuminator has a leg arrangement and a frame connected to the leg arrangement and extending upwardly and at a slant rearwardly away from the leg arrangement. A support surface is arranged at the front side of the frame for supporting an illustration to be illuminated. A light assembly is connected to the frame remote from the leg arrangement for illuminating the support surface. The light assembly has lamps emitting light rays and further has a front end with an outlet via which the light rays exit and impinge on the support surface. The light assembly has a reflector arranged relative to the lamps such that the light rays emitted by the lamps pass through the outlet only after having been reflected at least once on the reflector.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for instructing a procedure for manufacturing a wire harness are provided. A plurality of work positions is simultaneously illuminated with the visible light, and a procedure related to each work position is displayed with an optical image formed by scanning the work positions. Optical images may be consecutive numerical values formed of the visible light in correspondence to the order of works, or an outline drawing G of the wire harness WH may be displayed with an optical image formed of the visible light. Thereby, it is possible to display the order of stages without detecting the progress of an operator's work one by one. Further, utilization of the optical image allows the order of stages to be recognized easily and prevents errors from being made. Furthermore, a first holder pivotally holds a light source on a first axis. A light source-driving member for pivoting the light source on the first axis is provided on the first holder.

  • Patent number: 6513962
Abstract: An illumination system for illuminating an area within a room includes one or more light sources, preferably disposed outside the room, one or more lighting heads disposed within the room, one or more light pipes and/or fiber bundles to transmit light from the source(s) to the lighting head(s). The system includes means for controlling both the intensity and the color rendering index of the light emitted from the lighting head. In a preferred embodiment, the sources include an incandescent source extending across the visible spectrum and a light emitting diode source which emits essentially red light, and control of the color rendering index is effected by controlling the relative amounts of light from the two sources reaching the lighting head. Preferred forms of the invention also include special joints which permit all necessary translations and rotations of the lighting head while still permitting a continuous light path via fiber bundles and/or light pipes from the source to the lighting head.

  • Patent number: 6508566
Abstract: An under cabinet halogen light fixture with an internal wire raceway includes a housing having a base and a removable cover, which when mated, define a hollow interior. The light fixture also includes at least one lamp assembly mounted inside the housing. Adjacent each lamp assembly there is a corresponding bezel assembly mounted in a respective aperture formed in the cover. A wall member located in the base defines at least one internal wire raceway in the interior of the housing, which routes electrical wires to each lamp assembly from an external wire raceway, or from a hole in the base of the housing where the electrical wires enter the housing. If needed, the hole in the base of the housing is created by removing a punch out portion from the base. To mate the internal wire raceway with an external wire raceway, a breakaway portion formed in the housing adjacent the internal wire raceway is removed from the housing to create a passageway that is shaped to receive the external wire raceway.
