  • Patent number: 8398273
Abstract: The invention relates to an elongate light fixture having a substantially triangular cross-section. The light fixture is screwed to a supply duct with the rear wall thereof. A front rail runs parallel to the rear wall. Transparent panels and are inserted detachably between the rear wall and rail. In the interior of the light fixture, a fluorescent lamp is provided as the luminous element. The light emitted by said fluorescent lamp is reflected upward by way of reflector surfaces that open in the shape of a funnel and is scattered diffusely in the direction A by means of the frosted panel. The panel surfaces, which likewise open in the shape of a funnel, reflect the light exiting downward from the lamp in the direction toward the panel, the grooved structure of which ensures that the light is deflected substantially in the direction B, while the portion of the side light exiting in the direction C is reduced.

Abstract: A light assembly is disclosed which can include an LED array and a reflector. The LED array can include a plurality of LEDs which are disposed such that each LED is substantially aligned to define a focal axis. Each LED can emit light substantially along an optical output axis, with each optical output axis being perpendicular to the focal axis. The optical output axis of the LED array can be disposed in intersecting relationship with the reflector surface. The reflector can be defined by a curve section defined with respect to a principal axis. The principal axis and the output axis of the LED array can be in non-parallel relationship with each other. The optical output axis of the LED array can be substantially perpendicular to the principal axis of the curve section of the reflector.

  • Patent number: 8201980
Abstract: A vehicle headlamp is provided with: a fixed reflector having reflecting surfaces, a respective one of which is made of a parabola-based free curved face; movable reflectors having reflecting surfaces, a respective one of which is made of a parabola-based free curved face; and semiconductor-type light sources, a respective one of which has a light emitting chip shaped like a planar rectangle. When the movable reflectors are positioned in a first location, a light distribution pattern for low beam is obtained on the reflecting surfaces of the fixed reflector. When the movable reflectors are positioned in a second location, light distribution patterns for high beams are obtained on the reflecting surfaces of the fixed reflector and the movable reflector. As a result, the vehicle headlamp enables downsizing, weight reduction, power saving, and cost reduction.
