  • Patent number: 6866403
Abstract: A lamp for use on a table or a floor comprises a base, an intermediate spacer coupled to the base and rotatable with respect thereto, a light source, and a shade disposed over and about the light source. The shade has a surface shaped to insinuate a lipstick and additionally has a partially translucent portion acting to diffuse light emanating from the lamp. The lamp operates such that rotation of the intermediate spacer causes the lamp shade to move along a linear axis. A method for adjusting the light pattern emanating from such a lamp further comprises energizing the light source, rotating the intermediate spacer, and moving the shade along the linear axis while maintaining the light source energized.

  • Publication number: 20040233676
Abstract: The components of an adjustable light fixture mounting assembly are secured during adjustment of a light in a lighting system. A knuckle joint with a locking taper secures an upper knuckle half to a lower knuckle half. The locking taper secures the adjustment of the knuckle halves, even if the knuckle screw becomes loosened. In a further embodiment, an O-ring seal between a double locking taper seals the knuckle joint from moisture. A rotating locking clamp secures the lower knuckle half to a nipple with a reverse taper on both the lower knuckle half and the nipple, while allowing rotation of the lower knuckle half with respect to the nipple. Stop pins in the lower knuckle and nipple cooperate with an interior profile of the rotating locking clamp to allow 360 degrees rotation of the lower knuckle half with respect to the nipple.

  • Patent number: 6764194
Abstract: A headlight for use on a head gear, or the like, is provided. A LED serves as a light source mounted on a clamp for attachment to the head gear in any one of the three orientation planes. A universal mount of the light source on the clamp allows the light beam to be directed by up and down, as well as by side-to-side, manual adjustment. The beam covers substantially all frontal objects without changing the position of the clamp. A pair of pivot connections, or a ball and socket mechanism, exhibit sufficient frictional engagement to hold the light source in position. The pivot connection may be used to support the ball on the light source in the second embodiment. The socket is split along its curvature lines and an O-ring extends around the split socket to assure frictional engagement to hold the light source in position.

Abstract: A luminaire supports different types of lamps or light bulbs in a strip which is adjustable as to length and as to angles or curvature between adjacent lamps. The luminaire consists of multiple support members, which can be fashioned as a variety of shapes and sizes. Each support member supports a lamp socket, and may additionally support a ballast or other equipment. A rigid conduit inserted into holes in the end of adjacent support members provides a connection between those adjacent support members. Additionally, the conduit provides a passageway for wires or other conductors running between support members. The rigidity of each conduit provides protection for such conductors. A restraining mechanism limits the movement of the rigid conduit with respect to each support member into which each end of the conduit is inserted, preventing the conduit from withdrawing from a support member and limiting movement of the conduit into the support mechanism.

Abstract: The invention relates to a lamp device which is worn on or directly in front of the forehead, respectively, or above or beside the eyes, respectively, and which ensures that the wearer's freedom of movement is neither restricted nor hindered by cables or other connections. The present invention is special in that several non-thermal, light-emitting elements are provided for the generation of light and that the individual light-emitting elements emit the light in a defined direction of radiation and are located in such a way that the light which is generated is directional. Those light-emitting elements (1) are located in such a way that each of them forms a particular angle with the visual axis of the wearer so that all light sources (1) have a common intersection point just at the wearer's monitoring or working distance, respectively. Moreover, all individual light-emitting elements (1) have the same distance to that intersection point.

Abstract: A boat light apparatus comprising a mounting block, a main upright pole, a lamp boom, a main head lamp and a bait lamp. The apparatus has a generally tubular shaped lamp boom with a distal end, proximal end and mid-region. The head lamp is attached to the distal end of the lamp boom and the bait lamp is attached along the lamp boom behind the head lamp. On the proximal end of the lamp boom is a grip handle perpendicular to the lamp boom. The lamp boom is pivotally attached in its mid-region to the main upright pole. This pivotal attachment allows the head lamp to be positioned along the vertical plane. The main upright pole is generally a tubular shaped mast with a top end and bottom end. The lamp boom is pivotally attached near the top end of the upright pole. The bottom end of the upright pole is coupled to a mounting block. The mounting block has an inner cavity to receive the bottom end of the upright pole and allows horizontal rotation of the head lamp.

Abstract: Light from a flash discharge tube is reflected in a forward direction by a concave mirror and further refracted to a negative direction by a projection lens. A trigger wire for triggering the flash discharge tube to set off emission is constructed of an elastic material. The flash discharge tube is retained, as an integrated combination, by a discharge tube mounting frame on which support axial parts are provided in a protruding manner, and these support axial parts are slidably and swingably fitted with slide slots of the casing which are provided along the optical axis, so that the flash discharge tube is arranged to be displaceable both in a direction of the optical axis of the flash light emission apparatus and at least in one direction in a plane perpendicular to the optical axis with respect to a relative position thereof to the concave mirror.
