  • Patent number: 8456768
Abstract: A lens-holding-and-aligning seat and an LED light panel thereof are presented. The light panel includes a substrate, an LED, a lens and a holding-and-aligning seat. The LED is disposed on the substrate in corresponding to a soldering pad of the substrate, and the holding-and-aligning seat has a holding portion and an aligning element. The lens is fixed on the holding-and-aligning seat by the holding portion, and the aligning element is bonded on the soldering pad corresponding to the soldering pad by a reflow process. Therefore, the lens is aligned with the LED by a soldering self-alignment mechanism, such that the light shape and light intensity distribution of the light emitted by the LED may be adjusted by the lens.

  • Patent number: 7618168
Abstract: A shatter glass guard and venting effect design for a fixture of a luminaire adapted to provide adequate shatter guard protection for the purpose of preventing glass from a broken lamp from being released from the fixture. An annular ring of perforated material is attached to an open end of a reflector. A lens is attached to the outside surface of the annular ring and is dimensioned to expose a portion of the perforated material to allow for venting of heat from within the fixture. The lens and lamp can be installed or removed from the fixture after installation without access from the top of the light housing. The lens when mounted becomes integral with the reflector and moves with the reflector should the reflector need to be adjusted or tilted for aiming. The lens and annular ring combination provides adequate shatter guard protection and venting of the fixture.

  • Patent number: 7327408
Abstract: A hollow sphere with a scattering (e.g., white diffusive) interior surface directs light input from at least one input light source to an exit. In one embodiment, an internal hot mirror and phosphor are positioned to intercept the input light on which visible light is reflected and ultraviolet light is directed to the phosphor for conversion to visible light. The exit has a reflective polarizer that passes light of a selected polarization to an output. Light of other polarization(s) is reflected back into the sphere where it becomes unpolarized because of reflections and may eventually be returned to the exit at the selected polarization.

  • Patent number: 6382821
Abstract: A flexible and ornamental vehicle light cover comprises a flexible piece of sheet material with a pressure sensitive adhesive layer applied to a back surface for bonding the sheet to a vehicle lens that surrounds one of the lamps e.g., an electric tail lamp of the vehicle. The sheet material has an outline depicting a design or symbol that can be seen by an observer whether the light is on or off. The sheet has the multiplicity of punched openings in it to enable light from the vehicle lamp to pass through the sheet for preventing an unacceptable reduction in the luminous flux provided by the vehicle lamp. The sheet is thus able to be applied to the vehicle lens over the lamp by pressing the sheet onto the lens so as to intercept and block no more than the predetermined fraction of the luminous flux impinging thereon while serving to decorate the vehicle.
