Wheelbarrow-type Support Patents (Class 366/48)
  • Publication number: 20150023123
Abstract: A portable mixing apparatus is adapted for mixing materials in a wheelbarrow or other container and is removably attached to a mixer support stand using at least one pivot point. The portable mixer includes a drive mechanism and a mixing body where the mixing body is repositionable in three dimensions, allowing for maximum flexibility in positioning the mixing body within the interior space of the wheelbarrow. Once the mixing body has been positioned, the mixing body is rotated by means of the drive mechanism, which is affixed to the mixing body. The mixing body includes a plurality of mixing blades or paddles that will extend below the upper edge of the wheelbarrow frame and engage the materials to be mixed contained within the interior space of the wheelbarrow. The drive mechanism may be a hand crank or motor driven mechanism. A removable liner is also included in certain embodiments.

  • Patent number: 7075202
Abstract: A mixer/stirrer motor-reducer (e.g. as part of a mixer, stirrer or similar building machine), includes an electric motor (2) and a reducer (3) kinematically connected to the motor via a gear train (4, 6, 8) and with a relevant output shaft (9) intended for moving a mixing tank (10; 110). The motor-reducer (1) is provided with a box-shaped shell (15) made of insulating material. The shell (15) is open laterally, is able to include the casing (12) of the electric motor (2), is closable by a flange (19) and is made of electrically insulating material and is interposed between the motor (2) and the reducer (3).

  • Patent number: 6749328
Abstract: A wheelbarrow with a mixing assembly for mixing aggregate building products. The wheelbarrow has a base assembly and an open hopper mounted on the base assembly. The mixing assembly has a mixing blade positioned within the hopper, and a motor. A motor housing is positioned under the hopper, within the base assembly, and houses the motor. A shaft extends from the mixing blade through the bottom surface of the hopper into the motor housing. The shaft connects the mixing blade with the motor, and allows for rotational movement of the blade to effect cutting grooves into the aggregate substances within the hopper when the motor is activated.

  • Patent number: 6461033
Abstract: A portable mixing device for quickly and efficiently combining dry constituents with water to form a mix having a thin batter consistency and no unmixed material. Mounted on a wheeled, pivoting frame, a single individual can use the device to mix the material and pour it in the proper location. The device includes a cylindrical mixing drum and agitation tool mounted within the mixing drum. The agitation tool includes a motor and housing, a drive shaft, wiping assembly, and mixing assembly. The stationary wiping assembly, which extends downward into the mixing drum co-mingles so as to pass closely between and among the blades of the rotating mixing assembly such that the flexible edge portions of the wiping assembly blades are in intermittent contact with the blades of the mixing assembly. The “wiping” action of the wiper assembly on the mixing assembly insures complete and efficient agitation and mix of materials.

  • Patent number: 6220744
Abstract: A barrel mixer and assembly is disclosed. The barrel mixer comprises a rotary mixer barrel and a support for the rotary mixer barrel. The support includes a tipping arrangement for the barrel, wherein the support limits tipping of the barrel between a mixing position in which the barrel is angled to retain its contents, and a pouring position in which the barrel is angled so that its contents are poured out. The mixer also a motor having a motor output shaft aligned parallel to an axis of rotation of the barrel, and a mounting plate attached to the motor and surrounding the motor output shaft. Finally, the mixer has a transmission mounted on the support for rotating the barrel. The transmission includes step-down gearing between the motor and the barrel.

  • Patent number: 5190372
Abstract: A mixer having a drum and a motor drivingly connected to the drum. The drum is mounted on a pivotting arm in a cantilever fashion. The pivotting arm has a bushing coaxial with an axis of the drum. The pivotting arm has a cable channel formed therein so as to enable an electrical connection to the motor. The motor has a drive shaft in driving connection with a transmission connected to the drum. The motor has a stator secured to a flange affixed to the bushing. The shaft has an eccentric engaging the step-down transmission so as to cause the drum to rotate relative to a speed of the motor. The electrical connection extends through a hole in the bushing. The electrical connection extends to a switchplug of a pivot axis of the pivotting arm.

  • Patent number: 4060225
Abstract: A wheelbarrow mounting a container having upright side and end walls includes a generally U-shaped, upwardly opening cutout in one of the end walls. A mixing unit can be mounted to the wheelbarrow by placing a mounting plate of the unit over the cutout. The mixing unit comprises an elongate shaft protruding through the mounting plate into the container and means for driving the shaft. A mixing blade defined by axially spaced first and second arms which are angularly offset with respect to each other and attached to the shaft adjacent the mounting plate and adjacent a free shaft end, respectively, is also provided. The first arm of the blade extends radially away from the shaft and the second arm extends radially and axially away from the free shaft end while a generally longitudinally extending, twisted blade section interconnects free ends of the first and second arms.
