Abstract: A system and method systematically manage network devices. A memory stores a solution inventory list of network solutions of the network devices. An input/output device receives Internet Protocol (IP) addresses and commands. A parsing system validates the IP addresses and commands, and searches the solution inventory list for solutions based on the IP addresses. An interactive system performs natural language processing of interactions with the network devices, sets a timeout period, and executes the commands to implement the found solutions. A reporting system generates a report indicating that the commands are successfully executed. The input/output device outputs the report. A method implements the system.

Abstract: Described herein are systems, methods, and software to manage communication path configurations between edge gateways in a computing environment. In at least one implementation, a controller monitors network characteristics associated with routes from a first edge gateway to a second edge gateway and determines whether a first route configuration for the first edge gateway to communicate with the second edge gateway fails to satisfy criteria based on the network characteristics. If the first route configuration fails to satisfy the criteria, the controller determines a second route configuration and applies the second route configuration for the first edge gateway to communicate with the second edge gateway.

Abstract: Monitoring systems and methods for data collection in an industrial environment are described. A system can include a first and second data collector coupled to input channels and a data acquisition circuit to interpret detection values corresponding to the input channels, wherein the sensor data is acquired from a first route of input channels. A data storage may store sensor specifications for sensors corresponding to the input channels and a data analysis circuit may evaluate the sensor data with respect to stored anticipated state information including an alarm threshold level. When the threshold is exceeded, a communication circuit communicates with a second data collector which transmits a state message related to a first input channel. A response circuit changes a routing of the input channels from a first routing to an alternate routing based on the state message from the second data collector.

  • Patent number: 9391694
Abstract: A protection path providing method is used in a network that includes a shared section in which a first protection path corresponding to a first work path to transmit a first traffic and a second protection path corresponding to a second work path to transmit a second traffic are configured. The method includes: transmitting a message that includes information indicating a transmission rate of the first work path via a logical ring, the logical ring being formed using a route for which the first work path is configured and a route for which the first protection path is configured, when a failure is detected in the first work path; and controlling a switch circuit installed in a transmission device provided at an end of the shared section in accordance with the message in such a manner as to transmit the first traffic via the shared section.

Abstract: Techniques for reducing the latency in performing a failover from a protected connection to its backup connection when a network event is detected affecting the protected connection. In an MPLS network, techniques are provided for failing a protected LSP to a backup LSP in a fast and efficient manner. In one embodiment, the faster failover is facilitated by storing protected LSPs and their backup LSPs information in the data plane, such as locally on a linecard.

  • Patent number: 9203732
Abstract: A connection-oriented network (5) has a plurality of connections terminated at a first node (N6). A recovery group (A) is configured at the first node (N6) comprising at least two of the plurality of connections (LSP1-6, LSP2-6, LSP3-6, LSP4-6). Fault detection is performed over each of the connections in the recovery group (A) and the node determines if at least one recovery group fault condition is met, based on the results of the fault detections performed over the connections in the recovery-group (A). When the at least one recovery group fault condition is met, the node causes traffic on the plurality of connections in the recovery group (A) to be transferred to backup paths. When the at least one recovery group fault condition is not met, and a fault has been detected on a connection in the recovery group (A), the node causes traffic to be transferred from that connection to a backup path.

Abstract: Embodiments of an enhanced Node B (eNB) and method for precoding with reduced quantization error are generally described herein. In some embodiments, first and second precoding-matrix indicator (PMI) reports may be received on an uplink channel and a single subband precoder matrix may be interpolated from precoding matrices indicated by both the PMI reports. Symbols for multiple-input multiple output (MIMO) beamforming may be precoded using the interpolated precoder matrix computed for single subband for a multiple user (MU)-MIMO downlink orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) transmission. In some embodiments, each of the first and second PMI reports includes a PMI associated with a same subband that jointly describes a recommended precoder.

Abstract: A scaleable network monitoring system is discussed. The network monitoring system identifies network monitoring information for the network elements being monitored. By storing only a non-redundant subset of the identified network information in memory, the network monitoring system is able to monitor a much larger group of network elements than is possible with conventional monitoring systems which are burdened by memory constraints. The scaleable network monitoring system also employs a multi-threaded architecture that dynamically spawns an array of multi-technology monitoring sub-systems.
