Abstract: Certain aspects of the disclosure are directed to routing decisions implemented in response to VoIP telephone calls. According to a specific example, in response to the VoIP telephone calls, a first set of one or more documents are identified and executed to make routing decisions for the VoIP telephone calls. A second set of one or more documents are then identified based upon an association with the routing decisions. The second set of documents identify data to be retrieved from data sources. In response to the data, call control functionality is provided for the VoIP calls.

  • Patent number: 11647428
Abstract: A communication method supports Enhanced Voice Services (EVS) codec performed by a communication terminal apparatus. The method includes performing negotiation to use an EVS codec for communication between a communication terminal apparatus and a counterpart terminal, using an IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) signaling including one of a session description protocol (SDP) offer and an SDP answer, and performing negotiation to specify one or more audio-bandwidths of input signals in Hertz (Hz) or kilohertz (kHz) for the EVS codec. In a communication session after the codec negotiation session, the processor causes the receiver to receive a signaling for changing an audio-bandwidth of an input signal to the EVS codec from a network node, changes the audio-bandwidth of the input signal to the EVS codec to another audio-bandwidth without changing the EVS codec based on the signaling, and causes the transmitter to transmit encoded data in the changed audio-bandwidth.

  • Patent number: 11637929
Abstract: Connecting agent to customers is the cornerstone of contact center operations. When a customer is connected to an agent for real-time communications (e.g., voice), they can be particular sensitive to any delay, such as the delay to establish a media channel between the agent's endpoint and the customer's device. By establishing a media channel between the agent's device and a server having initially received the communication, the communication may be attached to the existing media channel without requiring the time and resources otherwise necessary to establish the media channel. Additionally, if a problem or failure occurs, a server utilized for the connection may seek to establish the media channel with a second network, such as a telephone network, or a second agent endpoint or endpoint component.

  • Patent number: 11632655
Abstract: Techniques are described for obtaining current location data for a non-traditional telephony endpoint for emergency calling purposes. An emergency services (ES) provider receives, from a telephony server responding to a telecommunication session establishment request from a telephony endpoint, a location registration request, the location registration request including telephony endpoint identification information. The ES provider may push a quick response (QR) code to the telephony endpoint, the QR code when scanned by a mobile device causes the mobile device to retrieve its current location data. The ES provider may then receive the current location data from the mobile device and store it and the telephony endpoint identification information for subsequent use should a 911 call be made from that telephony endpoint. The ES provider may then send the telephony server an authorization acknowledgement for the telecommunication session establishment request.

  • Patent number: 11632339
Abstract: Resource provider specifications, characterizing computing resources of computing resource providers, are received. The reachability of each IP address included in the received specification is determined. An agent is deployed that is operable to determine the value of each of a set of metrics in the environment of the host at which the agent is deployed. The agent determines the value of each metric of the set of metrics in the environment of the relevant host, and communicates the determined values to one or more computing devices that validate whether the resources characterized by the communicated values are sufficient to provide the performance characterized by the received specification and that each ISP router complies with a predetermined policy. For each computing resource provider validated and determined to comprise an ISP router compliant with policy, the specified computing resources are added to a pool of resources for cloud computing.

Abstract: In an example embodiment, a solution that allows a PBX to utilize bridged mobile or desktop applications for collaboration and softphone use is provided. The solution works in conjunction with existing hardwired PBX devices without requiring additional hardware such as an edge router to be integrated with the PBX hardware. Incoming calls are able to ring a user's hardwired device, such as a desk phone at an office, while simultaneously ring mobile device or desktop applications (apps). App users can place outbound PSTN calls and dial PBX extensions just as if they were using their hardwired device. Additionally, PSTN services are utilized from the existing PBX rather than bypassing the existing PBX, which makes tracking and billing more straightforward. A Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) tie trunk is used between the existing PBX and a software bridge controller.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are directed assessing reliability between two computing devices. A distributed database may maintain reliability associations between pairs of computing devices. Each reliability association may indicate a particular device has determined (e.g., locally) that another device is reliable. In order to determine an amount of reliability between a first computing device and a second computing device, an ordered combination of the reliability associations may be determined utilizing the distributed database. The ordered combination of reliability associations may identify a reliability path between the first computing device and the second computing device. An amount of reliability may be determined based on the reliability path. An interaction between the devices may be allowed or restricted based at least in part on the amount of reliability between the computing devices.
