Staircase Wave Patents (Class 370/530)
  • Patent number: 9510386
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are described for monitoring for a radio link failure in a long term evolution-advanced (LTE-A) system operated with carrier aggregation. The methods include criteria for determining radio link failure, recovery events, and the actions that a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may take upon the occurrence of such events.

  • Patent number: 8824485
Abstract: Packet processing logic of a host system's virtualization manager detects packets on the ingress or the egress path to/from a virtual port having three bitmap arrays for processing packets within a virtual local area network (VLAN). The logic checks the VLAN identifier (VID) of the packet to determine, based on an offset position within the corresponding bitmap array, whether the port supports the VLAN. Both the ingress array offset position and egress array offset positions correspond to the value of the VID, and are set within the specific bitmap array during configuration of the VLAN on the port. When the VLAN is supported by the port, the logic enables the packet to be processed by the port. Otherwise, the logic discards the packet. A strip bitmap array indicates when a packet's VID should be removed prior to forwarding the packet on the egress of a port (or destination port).

  • Patent number: 8378846
Abstract: A method and apparatus is disclosed for providing a metering site transceiver (12 or 15) with the ability to operate in a mobile back-up network (26) to signal utility consumption data that would otherwise be transmitted to a fixed receiver (30) in a fixed network AMR system. A mobile collection back-up capability allows a vehicle collection system (26, 27) to be used to read the remote meters (11, 14) in the fixed network, when a gateway (30) is detected as not communicating with the site transceiver (12 or 15).

  • Patent number: 8126021
Abstract: A method and apparatus for detecting a radio link (RL) failure for uplink (UL) and downlink (DL) in a long term evolution (LTE) wireless communication system including at least one wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) and at least one evolved Node-B (eNodeB) are disclosed. A determination is made as to whether an RL has an in-synchronization status or an out-of-synchronization status. An RL failure is declared if an out-of-synchronization status is detected.

  • Patent number: 7996567
Abstract: A network interface device connectable to a network, the device being arranged to receive digital audio data representing an audio signal and, substantially in real time, to launch data packets representing the digital audio data onto the network, the device comprising: an attribute detector arranged to generate attribute data representing an attribute of the audio signal; and a packetiser operable: to format the digital audio data into audio data packets to be launched onto the network; and to format the attribute data into attribute data packets, separate from the audio data packets, to be launched onto the network.

  • Patent number: 7627688
Abstract: Systems and methods are described which allow the detection of gaps in a set of data. These systems and methods may include defining streams of data from a network topology, associating incoming data with one or more of these streams, and processing these streams. A gap may be detected by comparing the times of events in the stream. If a gap is detected remedial action may be taken, and processing of the streams temporarily halted. Processing of the streams may continue when data for a certain stream is received, or after the lapse of a certain period of time.

  • Patent number: 7280565
Abstract: The invention relates to a synchronous clocked communication system, for example a distributed automation system, the stations of which can be arbitrary automation components and which are coupled to one another via a data network. Using the disclosed method for integrating decentralized input/output modules, these decentralized input/output modules can be linked into the synchronous clocked communication system in such a manner that they can use their characteristics unrestrictedly. Thus, in particular, the detection of input signals and the output of output signals is possible in a deterministic and synchronous manner in the decentralized input/output modules. In addition, the disclosed method enables input signals to be detected with an accuracy of less than the length of one communication cycle of the communication system and to support the switching of output signals in smaller time granularities than the length of one communication cycle which, in particular, finds use, e.g. for switching cams.
