  • Patent number: 9059899
Abstract: A method may include determining a first number of events occurring during a first threshold detection duration. The method may further include causing processing of events to cease for a particular throttling duration in response to determining that the first number of events occurring during the threshold detection duration is greater than a predetermined threshold. The method may also include determining a second number of events occurring during a second threshold detection duration. Additionally, the method may include, in response to determining that the first number of events occurring during the first threshold detection duration is greater than the predetermined threshold and that the second number of events occurring during the second threshold detection duration is greater than the predetermined threshold: increasing the time of the particular throttling duration; and causing processing of events to cease for the increased particular throttling duration.

Abstract: A video signal and an audio signal are TMDS transmitted from a source device to a sink device. Through a reserved line and a HPD line provided separately from a TMDS transmission line, an Ethernet™ signal is bidirectionally transmitted, and also, a SPDIF signal is transmitted from the sink device to the source device. The Ethernet™ signal bidirectionally transmitted between Ethernet™ transmitter/receiver circuits is differentially transmitted by an amplifier and is received by the amplifier. The SPDIF signal from a SPDIF transmitter circuit is common-mode transmitted from an adder and is received by the adder to be supplied to the SPDIF receiver circuit.

Abstract: A MIMO system supports multiple spatial multiplexing modes for improved performance and greater flexibility. These modes may include (1) a single-user steered mode that transmits multiple data streams on orthogonal spatial channels to a single receiver, (2) a single-user non-steered mode that transmits multiple data streams from multiple antennas to a single receiver without spatial processing at a transmitter, (3) a multi-user steered mode that transmits multiple data streams simultaneously to multiple receivers with spatial processing at a transmitter, and (4) a multi-user non-steered mode that transmits multiple data streams from multiple antennas (co-located or non co-located) without spatial processing at the transmitter(s) to receiver(s) having multiple antennas. For each set of user terminal(s) selected for data transmission on the downlink and/or uplink, a spatial multiplexing mode is selected for the user terminal set from among the multiple spatial multiplexing modes supported by the system.

Abstract: The present invention relates to uplink transmissions and scheduling of resources for uplink transmissions in connection with packet switched communication. A radio communication network schedules time slots for transmission of bursts of a first radio block on at least two different uplink packet data channels and transmits an Uplink State Flag, associated with a mobile station for which the first radio block was scheduled, on a first downlink packet data channel representing a first subperiod within a basic uplink period. The mobile station receives the Uplink State Flag, identifies the scheduled resources for transmission of the first radio block wherein the timing of the first subperiod is derived utilizing the fact that the Uplink State Flag was received on the first downlink packet data channel and transmits the first radio block utilizing the identified resources.

Abstract: Various signal routing systems are disclosed. Some routing systems include a crosspoint switch or switching fabric for coupling input ports to output ports, allowing an input signal received at one of the input ports to be transported to one or more of the output ports. The systems may include aggregation or compression modules to allow multiple input signals to be combined into one or more compressed signals, which may be converted into optical signals for transmission to a communication network. In some embodiments, the communication network may include a packet switched router which extracts some of the input signals from the optical signals and produced corresponding packetized signals that are coupled to output ports. Some routing system may include only a packet switched router. Some routing systems may be configured to receive compressed or aggregated signals and to decompress or deaggregate such signals to form individual signals as output signals.

Abstract: Provided are methods and devices for determining the assignment of subsignals (S1, S2, S3, S4) transmitted by inverse multiplexing, particularly via an Optical Transport Network (OTN), to the transmission links (5a, 5b, 5c, 5d) carrying said subsignals. After a synchronization for the correct assembly of the subsignals (S1, S2, S3, S4) into the digital reception signal (E), the signal transmission via at least one transmission link (5a, 5b, 5c, 5d) is interrupted for a detection process in which the subsignal assigned to the interrupted link is determined. The process may be repeated to determine all subsignal assignments.

Abstract: Input/output of network switches and the like are improved by a system including a gearbox, an inverse-gearbox, and a Gigabit Ethernet link coupling them. The gearbox and inverse-gearbox interconnect data streams received through wider lower rate Gigabit Ethernet interfaces through narrower faster rate interfaces. The gearbox is configured to bit-multiplex physical-layer data streams received through input interfaces to generate bit-multiplexed data streams. The inverse-gearbox is configured to demultiplex the multiplexed data streams and to output the recovered data streams through output interfaces. One of the output interfaces is selected for each recovered data stream according to a respective embedded physical-layer data stream identifier.

Abstract: A method of assigning Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service (E-MBMS) bearers in a Multimedia Broadcast Single Frequency Network (MBSFN) area in a 3GPP compliant wireless communication system is provided. An infrastructure device is operably coupled to a radio access network comprising one or more MBSFN areas, wherein each MBSFN area supports a plurality of E-MBMS bearers for transporting media streams to user equipments (UE). The infrastructure device receives, from a UE, an identifier of a preferred MBSFN area and a request for a boost to the quality of the transmissions. The infrastructure device assigns first and second E-MBMS bearers in an MBSFN area to support a call to the UE, the first and second E-MBMS bearers providing the same information to the UE in their media content streams. The UE may employ application layer time-diversity reception of the media content.

Abstract: The present disclosure generally pertains to systems and methods for allocating bonding engines among bonding groups. In one exemplary embodiment, a provision module is configured to allocate bonding engines. When selecting a bonding engine for a new bonding group, the provision module only considers bonding engines residing on access modules that terminate at least one of the communication links of the bonding group. Out of the bonding engines residing on access modules terminating at least one communication link of the bonding group, the provision module selects a bonding engine servicing the least number of external links and assigns the selected bonding engine to the bonding group.
