Said Other Signal Being A Related Audio Signal (epo) Patents (Class 375/E7.271)
  • Patent number: 10476711
Abstract: The present technology relates to data processing devices and data processing methods that lower costs and enable CB (Channel Bonding). A transmission device divides a BB stream as a stream of BB (Baseband) frames into divisional streams by distributing the BB frames of the BB stream to data slices. The dividing of the BB stream is performed by limiting the data rate ratio between the data rates of the divisional streams. A reception device recomposes the original BB stream from the divisional streams obtained from data transmitted from the transmission device. The present technology can be applied to CB such as PLP (Physical Layer Pipe) bundling.

  • Patent number: 10034028
Abstract: A synchronization process between captioning data and/or corresponding metatags and the associated media file parses the media file, correlates the caption information and/or metatags with segments of the media file, and provides a capability for textual search and selection of particular segments. A time-synchronized version of the captions is created that is synchronized to the moment that the speech is uttered in the recorded media. The caption data is leveraged to enable search engines to index not merely the title of a video, but the entirety of what was said during the video as well as any associated metatags relating to contents of the video. Further, because the entire media file is indexed, a search can request a particular scene or occurrence within the event recorded by the media file, and the exact moment within the media relevant to the search can be accessed and played for the requester.

  • Patent number: 9886233
Abstract: Media content systems and methods are operable to detect sound using one or more microphones during presentation of a media content event. The audio content output is changed by a remedial action that is performed if the audio content detected by the microphones does not correspond to the intended audio content of the presented media content event.

  • Patent number: 9729369
Abstract: In a method implemented in a communication device configured to transmit PHY data units via a communication channel, first data and second data is received. The first data is modulated according to a first constellation having a first number of constellation points, and the second data is modulated according to a second constellation having a second number of constellation points higher than the first number of constellation points. The first data and the second data is parsed to a plurality of spatial streams such that a first subset of the spatial streams includes at least some of the modulated first data but none of the modulated second data, and a second subset of the spatial streams includes at least some of the modulated second data but none of the modulated first data. A single PHY data unit that includes the plurality of spatial streams is generated.

  • Patent number: 9436876
Abstract: A video segmentation system can be utilized to automate segmentation of digital video content. Features corresponding to visual, audio, and/or textual content of the video can be extracted from frames of the video. The extracted features of adjacent frames are compared according to a similarity measure to determine boundaries of a first set of shots or video segments distinguished by abrupt transitions. The first set of shots is analyzed according to certain heuristics to recognize a second set of shots distinguished by gradual transitions. Key frames can be extracted from the first and second set of shots, and the key frames can be used by the video segmentation system to group the first and second set of shots by scene. Additional processing can be performed to associate metadata, such as names of actors or titles of songs, with the detected scenes.

  • Patent number: RE40664
Abstract: A method of encoding a local time base embedded in the compressed data is disclosed. The local time base is encoded in two parts. The first part has a modulo time base that indicates the specific interval in the reference time base and the second part has a time base increment relative to the reference time. Two forms of time base increment is used to allow for the possibility of different encoding order and displaying order. A mechanism for the synchronization of multiple compressed streams with local time base is also described. A time base offset mechanism is also used to allow finer granularity synchronization of the multiple compressed streams.
