  • Patent number: 10440150
Abstract: Embodiments provide a delivery pacing solution to keep customers from affecting other customers. The delivery pacing solution need not be predefined or pre-configured for any customer or any particular job or job type and can be implemented in various ways, for instance, in a queue manager or a dynamic ticketing server. In some embodiments, an agent may obtain from a queue an item specifying a destination and determine whether the item has a concurrency parameter for a group associated with the destination. If so, the agent delivers the item to the destination. If not, the agent dynamically determines a concurrency parameter and returns the item to the queue with the concurrency parameter which controls a maximum number of items in the group that can be concurrently processed for delivery to the destination. A queue manager applies a concurrency rule to the item based on the concurrency parameter.

  • Patent number: 10193840
Abstract: The disclosed system provides blocking of incoming messages that are intended to be received on a mobile device of a user who is operating a vehicle. When an incoming message is received, the disclosed system retrieves driving status information for the destination mobile device to determine whether it is in a vehicle that is being driven. If the destination mobile device is in a vehicle that is being driven, the system blocks message delivery to the recipient and places the incoming message in a holding queue. The system may notify the sender that the incoming message has been blocked. If the destination mobile device is not in a vehicle that is being driven, the system delivers the incoming message to the destination mobile device along with any messages in the holding queue. The system optionally notifies the sender that the incoming message and/or the previously queued messages have been delivered.

  • Patent number: 7804946
Abstract: A system (100) and method deliver audible caller identification information when standard Caller ID information can not be provided, even when a subscriber to the service has per line blocking. A service control point (106) detects the directory number to which a terminating attempt trigger is assigned and places this directory number in a parameter for transmission to a service switching point (102) using a forward_call message (206). The per line blocking function does not interfere with transmission of this parameter so that the called party's directory number can be passed for processing and call completion by the system.

  • Patent number: 7769159
Abstract: A call is established between a circuit-switched network element and a packet-switched network element. A first call record is generated to record the circuit switched network element's involvement in the call, and a second call record is generated to record the packet-switched network element's involvement in the call. The first and second call records include the same call identification information to identify the call. The call identification information may include an internetwork call identifier, an identification of a carrier or service provider associated with the call, and other information that, in combination, uniquely identifies the call. The first and second call records are stored, e.g., in a centralized call record repository. Call records for a given call can be retrieved based on the call identification information for the given call.

  • Publication number: 20080298576
Abstract: A communication system 100 connects a plurality of terminals and the communication control unit 101 via a network 110. A group information table 203 of the communication control unit 101 has a that stores identification information of terminal belonging to a group capable of refusing receipts of information transmitted from an originator's terminal relative to identification information of that group and stores identification information of the originator's terminal relative to identification information of the group. A collation judging section 205 judges whether to refuse the receipt from the originator's terminal by collating whether the originator's terminal is registered relative to the group to which the recipient's terminal belongs by using the group information table 203. A communication control section 201 stops or connects the communication between the originator's terminal and the recipient's terminal to refuse or allow the receipt based on the judgment result.

  • Patent number: 7260385
Abstract: The invention uses the advanced intelligent network to provide caller identification for calls placed over the internet (24). A long distance call placed with an internet carrier results in the originating SSP (14) forwarding the call to an originating POP (22) for the internet carrier. The caller ID information is routed through the signaling system 7 network (16) to the SSP (32) in the terminating network. The call is routed to a terminating POP (26) and then to the SSP (32) in the terminating network. The SSP (32) inserts the caller ID information received through the SS7 network (16) and routes the call to the terminating line (30).

  • Patent number: 7221741
Abstract: A telephone and voice mail (voice processing) system, which is implemented using only a single processing means for controlling operation of both the telephone system and the voice mail system, permits a user to call back a party using caller ID data stored with a voice mail message left by the party calling into the system. This is accomplished by storing caller ID information associated with an incoming call along with the message placed by the incoming caller and stored within the mailbox associated with the called party. Additionally, the caller ID information may be used to create a speed dial list within the telephone and voice mail system for later use by the user. Such caller ID information may be retrieved from a voice mail message left by the calling party, or may be retrieved while conducting a conversation with the incoming call.
