  • Patent number: 8556508
Abstract: The bag (1) includes an elastic band (16) joined to the face (1a) of the bag by two joining areas (17; 2a) in such a manner that the useful length, when the elastic band is at rest (L2), corresponds to the space between the two joining areas on the bag or is less than the length (L1) of the longitudinal edge of the face. The elastic band extends over the entire width of the bag, from one lateral edge to the other, the elastic band being welded to two faces of the bag along these lateral edges, one of the at least two joining areas forming an intermediate joining area (17) located at a distance from the lateral edges.

  • Patent number: 6287002
Abstract: A draw cord system for opening and closing and opening in a top portion of a fabric carrier. The opening and closing system includes the top carrier with the top portion and a bottom portion. The top portion includes the opening for receiving articles inside the carrier. Edges in the top portion and around the opening are folder over and stitched for forming a casing. The casing includes a first opening and a second opening. The two openings are disposed next to each other and are used for receiving a portion of an elongated draw cord inside the casing. The draw cord includes a first end portion and a second end portion extending outwardly from the openings. Part of the first and second end portions of the draw cord is received through a slide opening in an anchor housing. Ends of the first and second end portions of the draw cord are attached to a draw cord handle to form a draw cord tail. A portion of an anchor cord is wrapped around the anchor housing for holding the anchor housing is place.

  • Patent number: 5484207
Abstract: A bulk material transport bag of the type having four walls, a top portion with the top portion including a bulk inlet spout, and a bottom, with the bottom portion including a discharge port. The bag would incorporate a cone to flat bottom feature on the bottom of the bag, which would allow the bottom of the bag to form a conical configuration when bulk material is pouring from the discharge spout, but when the discharge spout is closed off, the material of the bottom is pulled inwardly by the closure of the spout and the cone would form from the conical shape to the flat shape. When the discharge end is opened, the flat bottom of the bag would return to the conical shape serving as a discharge bottom of the bag. There would further be included a drawstring formed in a pocket around the closure so that a pulling of the drawstring would tighten the closure to form the closed end of the bag.

  • Patent number: 5215521
Abstract: Laparoscopy organ retrieval apparatus and procedures are presented for minimum invasion surgery inclusive of laparoscopic nephrectomy, cholecystectomy and other organ dissection, morsellation removal from the abdomen through a keyhole incision. The apparatus and procedures permit the safe and total removal of an organ from a body cavity in a morsellated condition through the combination utilization of an entrapment envelope sheath. The entrapment envelope having an apparatus for opening and closing, the apparatus controlled from an exterior position of the body cavity wherein the entrapment envelope after entry of the sheath is extruded from the sheath which has been inserted through a laparoscopic port in place in a keyhole surgical opening. The entrapment envelope is constructed of flexible, relatively low bulk fluid impermeable materials having sufficient strength to contain morsellator entry, organ fragmentation and removal.

  • Patent number: 4867576
Abstract: A flexible bag such as a trash bag is disclosed. The bag includes a flexible bag body having an open end with inflatable means located at the open end of the bag for maintaining the open end of the bag in an open position so that matter can be easily deposited into the bag through the bag's open end. In a preferred embodiment, the inflatable means includes a chamber-defining, inflatable rim which extends substantially around the open end of the bag body. An inflating means such as a valve or sealable stem-like member is also provided in communication with the chamber of the inflatable rim for receiving air to inflate the inflatable rim. The inflatable rim, when inflated, significantly enhances the ease with which matter may be deposited into the bag by defining an opening for receiving such matter.

  • Patent number: 4747701
Abstract: In general, the product of the present invention is a plastic liner bag which includes an elastic band, integral with the open top of the plastic bag. The edge of the elastic band which is attached to the plastic bag has a circumference in its relaxed state which is approximately equal to the circumference of the open top of the bag. As such, the elastic band does not interfere with the folding or rolling of the plastic liner bags of the present invention. That is, the bag will lie flat on a flat surface. The method of the present invention comprises the steps of forming a plastic bag out of plastic sheet material so as to have an open end and attaching one edge of an elastic band in its relaxed state to the plastic sheet material so as to be integral with the open end of the bag when it is formed.
